Today, Darryl Beazley interviews Alex Cross as he prepares to defend his W.C.E.K Television Title against Johnny “Vyper” Williams, discussing his dream opponents and how it feels to be entering his eighth month of being champion.

“Hello and welcome everyone. I'm Darryl Beazley, Digital Media Consultant for Ground Zero Global and this is GroundZero Digital here on www.GZW2K1.com and today I'm joined by Alex Cross, the W.C.E.K Television Champion, fresh from his successful defence against Kate Gilespie and Lord Jon Kellar. Alex, welcome... “

“Thanks for having me Darryl. “

“It's our pleasure, and congratulations. I believe today marks the end of your seventh month as W.C.E.K Television Champion. “

“It's be such an incredible ride that I couldn't even begin to tell you how many months its been. I'm just blessed to be where I am today. “

“There are those who view the Television Division as a kind of "purgatory", something Globalstars just have to "put up with" on their way to bigger things like the Intercontinental and World Titles. What do you say to those people? “

“To those people I ask if they've ever held the title before? So many great globalstars before me have held this belt and helped to build it up to what it is today. I don't look at it as purgatory I look at is someone entrusting you to help build a brand and a company up. You can't build anything without a foundation and the W.C.E.K. TV Title is that foundation. “

“So far from being just "paying your dues" you feel you form the strong base of the Championship scene? “

“To me holding a title is about trust more so than anything else. Being the TV Champion I'm expected to be in that ring week in and week out. I've been on almost every single show that GZW has broadcast since winning this title. I've been on more shows and wrestled in more matches than any other champion in this company since winning this title, including our World Champion. Have I paid my dues? I haven't been here long enough to pay anything much less my dues. But ever day that I walk down that ramp with my head held high and this TV Title around my waist I feel I'm getting that much closer to having "paid my dues." “

“Do you feel that the obligation to defend the TV title at every Crimson gives the division a certain "sparkle"? Something that sets it apart from the other divisions? “

“I think so. People get to know us better than most because they see us all the time. To be honest, I've seen some of these same fans at almost every show and can probably tell you their first names because of it. “

“So you won't be giving that title away easily. How do you think your match with Kate Gilespie and Lord Jon Kellar went? “

“I'm one of my biggest critics. I haven't had a match yet that I was completely satisfied with. With that being said I think the match went really well. Kate is such a great asset to this company and has a very bright future ahead of her. As for Lord Jon Kellar I think his name and his past speak for themselves. As for my title run I've said it once and I'll say it again, this title won't be going anywhere without a fight. “

“Would you like to face them, either of them a second time? I'm sure you know better than anyone how close it was. Would you like a chance to make it more definitive? “

“I'm always up for a chance to face anyone that will push me to my breaking point. I think both of them can so I welcome that opportunity when and if I'm given that chance. “

“Am I related to Kev Mania? My mother told me a few years ago that I had family member that wrestled for GZW but wouldn't tell me who so I guess it's a possibility. “

“The mystery continues! @itchypants, good name, twirks "You and Kellar both have a strong BJJ past. Who would win a BJJ match between you and Kellar?" “

“I think it would be a close contest as was apparent from our match the other night. But to be honest I think Jon might have the slight advantage in that department. All I know is it wouldn't be an easy win for him. “

“A classic question up next from @richarddawkinsmessiah. Which Globalstar, past or present, would you most like to face in the squared circle?
Past or present? I think the go to comment for everyone is Deacon Kane or Billy Bond since they were such polarizing figures back in the day. However, I would love to have gotten the chance to step into the ring with Firefly. I think he and I could have put on a great match for the fans. “

“Ah, an usual choice. What makes you say that about Firefly? “

“A lot of who I am is patterned after him. He always cared about doing right and making sure the fans got their money's worth every night. Add to that is martial arts style of wrestling mixed with the high flying aspect and he was a great athlete and one that I feel was severely underrated. “

“Clearly a man you admire, and you're certainly not alone in that respect. One final twirk, this one from @monkeymilkshake, Come Aftermath 2K12, if you had the chance to secure a year long TV Championship Reign or challenging for the World Title, and could only have one, which would you choose? “

“Wow now that's a good question. I think I would go for the year long reign because that's an achievement few ever accomplish. I'm still young so hopefully I'll have more chances at getting a shot at the World Title. That being said I might change my mind tomorrow. After all it is the World Heavyweight Championship. “

“It really is alluring isn't it? There's something extra special about being the World Heavyweight Champion, but as you say, a year long title reign would be one hell of a legacy. “

“Indeed. “

“Vyper you're a great competitor and I'm looking forward to stepping in the ring with you in a couple of days. But Vyper please understand that this isn't going to be a walk in the park. You're going in for the fight of your life. I'm no Monarch but I sure won't allow that to stop me from putting on a classic match and walking out the winner. “
