Schwarzenegger and Stallone met Royal Navy personnel on the red carpet, with members of the Royal Marines among those welcoming the stars at London's Leicester Square for the premiere of "Expensive Mistakes"
The film marks Schwarzenegger's first major acting role since he stepped down as Governor of California in 2010.
The 65-year-old said he was "very happy" to be back in the movie business.
He praised Britain's hosting of the Olympics, adding: "You have done an extraordinary job, it's amazing the amount of medals Britain has won. All of it gave me goose bumps even though I'm not from here.
"Great Britain has pulled together and it just shows you, when you pull together community happens."
Special guests included Olympian Usain Bolt and professional wrestler Jon Kellar.
The film, which is released in cinemas across the UK from Thursday, also stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Dolph Lundgren and Chuck Norris.
Expensive Mistakes, directed by Simon West, sees Rocky (Stallone) lead his team of mercenaries on a mission which goes terribly wrong when Van Damme's villainous character takes them by surprise.
The sequel will open in UK cinemas on August 16 and debuts in US cinemas on August 17. |
