Sir Chris Cairns and 'Lord' Clancy McClean. Bitter enemies. Neither man quite remembers why.
Rumours are running 'rampant' that bitter rivals Clancy McClean and Sir Chris Cairns were both 'very close' to inking a deal which would have seen the adversaries teaming up in order to act as GZW2K1's dual 'Social Media Ambassadors' for the upcoming Crimson "It Happened One Night" Lord of the Coliseum broadcast.
The role would have involved both Cairns and McCean 'live tweeting' throughout the event, chiming in with their opinions on the prestigious tournament as it unfolded. However, talks broke down when the two men and their respective entourages failed to come to an agreement. According to sources, neither man wanted to share the 'Twitter Spotlight' with their bitter enemy and various petty concerns were brought up, such as who would be allowed to Tweet first and insecurities surrounding which man would get the most Retweets from fans etc. etc.
Perhaps this breakdown in communication is a blessing in disguise for GZW2K1 as having McClean and Cairns working together would surely be a recipe for disaster which would in many ways detract from the Lord of the Coliseum tournament itself.
The long term rivalry between Cairns and McClean was taken up several notches recently when McClean legitimately won the Creation Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship - the prized possession of Cairnsy's CWII promotion - due to a legal loophole too convoluted to summarise here.
McClean also seems to legitimately believe that he is the 2012 Lord of the Coliseum and the two men have made very believable sounding threats recently that they want to brutally murder each other.
