There is said to be a lot of heat backstage between John Champa and the Executive Committee, leading to The Big Shot threatening to not re-sign his contract with GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 after the Aftermath2K12 pay-per-view.
It is no secret that he has been contemplating retirement for several months and wanted to get into acting. Because of this he was promised a role in the GZW2K1 Studios film, "Murdering Mojo", but when Champa‘s retirement talk became more serious, GZW2K1 flip-flopped and gave the role to Sean Locke. Some see this as a message to Champa that “you’re nothing without us”. In other words GZW2K1 is bitter that he just wants to retire, so they aren’t going to help him with his acting career.
