Come winterland
I have resigned myself to death
Come will to show the hidden hand
So I can draw my final breath
From behind the curtain steps Phantom, who stops on the stage and points out over the crowd, who pop like mad.
You could take me higher
So you said I trusted you
I may be a liar, but betrayal lies on you
He walks down the ramp quickly, spurned on by the crowd, who are solidly behind him. Rolling into the ring, he steps onto the second turnbuckle of the nearest corner and holds an arm up to get a response from the crowd.
I can feel when the journey ends
Final call for a last defense
Darkness come tonight
I have no fear of what you hold
Darkness come alive
You are the stories I've been told
Phantom steps down and to the ropes on the opposite side of the ropes, pointing out over the crowd again to show his love for them.
I possess the power
Of survival in the cold
Life is like a flower
As it stumbles out of fall
We all know when our time has come
This is where I will linger on
The music cuts out before the chorus as Phantom waits by the ropes for the match to begin.
Attire: Phantom wrestles topless. His face is hidden by facemasks of differing designs, but he favours the white one with black diagonal stripes. He also wears black bicep tape, black and white wrestling tights with a white “P” on the black part of his right leg, Black and white gloves and white boots with black kick pads.
Personality: Phantom stands out from many others, not just in appearance, but in the was he conducts himself. Phantom always speaks in a polite tone, always calm and measured. He is always courteous and respectful, even to his opponents and enemies (there is a difference) unless he has been offended enough. He very rarely actually threatens people, preferring to show what he can do in the ring, rather than make loud boasts. He's been around long enough to know when to speak and when to shut up, valuing intellect and wisdom as much as skill. To look into Phantom's eyes is to know one thing; this man knows what he's doing.
Bio: Not much is known about the man behind the mask, save for a select few. Many can talk to him for years without ever learning his real name. Most don't mind however, as he will give the time of day to those who wish to speak with him, provided they have not stepped out of line. Phantom has been around and seen a lot during his time so far, making him a very patient man. Known for his sense of sportsmanship, Phantom takes in-ring conduct very seriously, especially his own. In his mind, to take shortcuts during a regular match is to undermine one's own skill and experience, something he sees as being short-sighted.
Though he possesses great intensity, Phantom channels it very carefully, staying in control at all times. He doesn't give in to anger easily and never goes further in a fight than he needs to go. In the ring, this intensity radiates from him, but keeps it in check with a scary amount of discipline. He never underestimates an opponent, paying them the respect they are due.
Out of the ring, he usually keeps to himself when not training, signing autographs or things of that nature. He carries himself as a professional and never acts in a way that reflects poorly on himself or his employers. A friend of his is well looked after, offering advice and insight to those who approach him for it. He never presumes to give advice when not asked except to correct poor behaviour.
A match with Phantom is every bit a battle of the minds as it is a physical contest. A brutish opponent or an overly cocky one will not last long. A devious or otherwise clever opponent will relish the challenge.
Advantages: Excellent technical wrestler, he approaches wrestling as an art form as well as a true fighting style.
Strong and athletic
Experienced. Phantom has been wrestling for 13 years so far and can predict what the opponent may do by closely watching their movements.
Great ring awareness. As he retains his sharp focus, he knows exactly when to reach for the ropes and when to attempt a counter or reversal.
Unusual Tactic- If Phantom cannot find a hole in an opponent's defense, he will sometimes opt for a weak tie-up or other move which allows his opponent to go on offense. While they focus on that, he can take some punishment until that hole opens up, allowing him to exploit the new chink in their armour. This, while an unusual and unexpected move, can lead to a great payoff.
This is, however, a double-edged sword, as described below.
Disadvantages: Though he can brawl, he purposefully avoids it. This can be used to trick him into slowing down the pace of a match.
As he hasn't watched much in the way of GZW shows, it may be harder for him to scout his opponents while he settles in to his new environment. He has heard of many of those on the roster, but that is not the same as knowing what they can do.
As he never cheats, an underhanded Globalstar could use this to gain a quick advantage.
Unusual Tactic. Sometimes, this idea does not go as planned. Everyone makes mistakes and he is no exception to the rule. This tactic, if used at the wrong time, can grant the opponent a second wind, a mistake that has cost him before. As a result, Phantom does not rely on this too often, using it once in a while, to avoid becoming predictable or giving up too much offense. Even veterans need to tweak their strategies when need be.
