Sources suggest that GZW2K1 is going to go 'all-out' in an effort to make upcoming landmark pay-per-view Heatwave 10 the greatest event in the promotion's long and storied history.
No stone is being left unturned, and every possibility is being discussed. GZW2K1 would like for the show to be a celebration of the past, as well as the present and future, and many legendary stars of yesteryear are expected to appear in one form or another.
Of course, the nostalgia act from Heatwave 8 will take some beating, as that year's show saw the one-off returns and rare appearances of a multitude of Globalstars including John Taylor, Sean Fiery, Seth Raide, Sincere and Clancy McClean.
Current plans suggest that the 'Blasts From Our Past' Battle Royale will be making a special return this year as the supercard's opener.
Plans for the main event GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship match are uncertain at this stage, with management split over whether or not current champion, Lady Munin, is capable of sustaining fan interest heading into the big Summer event. Regardless, names being thrown around for the main event slot include Jericho Cross, Nathan Williams, Lord Leon Corbin and John Champa.
Rumored 'special attraction' matches being discussed at this stage include:
- Lord Leon Corbin vs. Icon James "Monarch" Corbin
- Icon Lord John Taylor vs. Bane
- Icon Lord Sean "Magic" Fiery vs. Icon Sincere
- Sir Chris Cairns vs. Clancy McClean
Current plans also suggest we will see some form of resolution to the 'Who Ran Over Angel?' saga at the June/July pay-per-view.
Not usually one for integrating with mainstream pop culture, GZW2K1 are nonetheless keen to get at least one A-list, globally recognized celebrity involved in this year's show. Actor Jack Nicholson made a brief cameo at Heatwave IV, and Prince William appeared (via satellite) at Heatwave in 2011.
Plans are to have the 'very simplistic looking official logo, which delivers a very bold message' be revealed before April.
