Earlier today, GZG Online visited Trouble Trax to meet with the latest addition to the GZW2K1 Women's Division, Rina Kirilos. A contrast from the muscle-bound spandex-clad types we've come to expect, the young woman who greets us instead sports an artistic t-shirt graphical t-shirt, a number of bangles, a neckless reading POW! and matching hairclip, and a pair of geek-chic glasses. She smiles a sweet smile as we approach with our questions.
1. So, Rina, you're a Globalstar now. How does it feel?
It feels great! I'm super excited to be here, and I'm ready to work hard and show the fans of the GZW just what I'm made of.
2. Your training was as a gymnast. What made you want to swap the rings for our ring?
Truth be told, my mom's always said that I'm kind of a show-off and a ham, not to mention a bit dramatic, so wrestling seemed more of a fit for my personality. That, and my older brother and sister-in-law are both wrestlers as well, and they both thought I'd fit in well in the wrestling world.
3. GZW2K1 has a strong tradition of female character, started by Tonya Glory. Do you see yourself emulating the likes of Glory, Munin and Icon Kandi Fortune-Corbin in becoming World Champion?
Wow, those are some pretty huge shoes to fill, especially since I'm so tiny! [laughs] Ultimately, I would love to be considered as someone who gave her all to the sport, whether or not I win any titles. Then again, a little gold never hurts!
4. Anniversary Armageddon saw the inductions of 4 new Ring of Honor Icons. Do you believe you have what it takes to join them one day?
Well, I'm just at the beginning of my journey in wrestling, so it's hard to say. I think everyone that gets into the business sees themselves as a future Hall of Famer, and I'm certainly no exception. But I'm just trying to take it all in, just living one day at a time and see where the road is going to take me.
5. Which comes first, sport or business?
Sport. I'm still learning the business side, so I'm trying to pick up any advice I can, but I will always put the sport first.
6. Can you give some insight as to how you'll approach your debut?
Well, I'm pretty spontaneous and a bit random, so I don't have a solid plan in mind yet. All I can say is keep your eyes on your screens, because you'll never know when I'll show up!
7. Finally, do you have a statement for the Globalverse?
To all my nerds out there, you guys are in for the ride of your life! Stick with me, because we're gonna go places here in GZW!
