With tonight's GZW2K1 Crimson broadcast still in progress, news is leaking out from the backstage area of the Phones 4u Arena that Globalverse veteran Bane has chosen to officially and discreetly retire from professional wrestling. His contract expires June 1st and will not be renewed. Bane (who will be 49 in July) made his GZW2K1 debut in March 2002. Career highlights include winning the HKWF World Heavyweight Championship in 2004 and closing the annual Heatwave pay-per-views in both 2009 and 2011. He had been plagued with serious injuries throughout most of his GZW2K1 career. His teenage son, Quarrie-Naughton Caprice, is a member of the United Japan Wrestling roster. Bane (above) wrestled his final match at tonight's GZW2K1 Crimson broadcast.
