This weekend, the stars of GZW2K1 will travel to Hong Kong’s Kowloon Park for the much anticipated Pay-Per-View event, Fallout: Heatwave II.
Viewers will be treated to a double bill of the ever-popular Chris Cairns Show, which will feature Jon Kellar’s Creation Trophy presentation and a one-to-one interview with decorated HKWF President, John Profit. Can the unibrowed genius behind Creation Wrestling top half a year’s worth of overwhelmingly over-the-top showings on Pay-Per-View? Tune in to find out.
Speaking of Jon Kellar, our reigning Extreme Heavyweight Champion is set to put up his gold against HKWF Hardcore Champion Zander Frost in what has been dubbed a Fifty First Tables match. The object, quite simply, is to be the first man to put your opponent through a staggering fifty tables! Madness, we know. The underlying incentives for both men, however, tell the real story. Frost is looking to unify his own Hardcore title with our Extreme Heavyweight strap in the hope of being the first to capture the mythical Triple Crown Of Thorns - Holding the hardcore titles in GZW, HKWF and UJW simultaneously. Can he do it, or is glory-hungry Kellar going to do what it takes to stop it from happening?
The W.C.E.K. Television Title is up for grabs as current champion Quake suits up against the giant mute, Viktor Kovalex. Kovalex has been the butt of many a joke for The Quake One and company, but will that be anything but an incentive for the big man to see to it that Quake’s days as champion are numbered?
Elsewhere on the card, the storied rivalry between Ex-Marine Shane Ryder and (vehemently anti-U.S.) United States Heavyweight Champion, ”The Root” Amun Ma’at looks to come to a close as the two throw down with the title on the line. Ever since The Root’s debut six months ago, these two have been at each other’s throats. We’ve seen all sorts of run-ins, including the now infamous ‘grenade’ incident, and it has all gotten out of hand. This one has to end it, and it’ll well and truly come down to who wants the other’s head on a pike more than even the title itself.
In perhaps the most obscure pairing on the card, the returning ace of GZW2K1’s past, Zachary Sharp faces perhaps his most monstrous challenge yet as he takes on the seven foot beast Necron in the first ever Cemetery Match. The object is for one man to drop the other into a gravesite for a ten-count, which may prove nigh-on impossible for the smaller man, Zac Sharp. Necron has told the world that Sharp’s two runs with the World Heavyweight Championship in 2002 and 2003 mean nothing to him, and that the young Canuck is merely an appetiser for him in his GZW career. Is the Grim Harvester right, or can the resourceful Sharp overcome the odds once again? Find out on Sunday night!
Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion Jay Jameson has had it relatively easy since grabbing the title during April’s Fallout: Against The Odds PPV… Former champion and upcoming challenger, ”The Real Deal” Jimmy Williams believes that Jameson’s luck is about to run out, but the arrogant young JJ doesn’t take a word of Williams’ seriously. Is that the confidence of a true champion or simply a rookie’s foolishness? We believe that Jimmy Williams will have the answer come Sunday night!
Right-wing lobby group Parents Against GZW have been on Vernon Vanderbilt’s case for months now. The flamboyant young performer – and number one contender to Lord John Taylor’s World Heavyweight Championship – has had to deal with marches, protests and even sit-ins disrupting his quest for the gold, and now he’s had enough! Cop Kahn Moral, robotic German law enforcer for P.A.G. will step up on Sunday night and try to show Vanderbilt the error of his ways in the hope of making GZW TV just a little safer for kids. Knowing “The Furnace Of Fabulosity”, he’ll have none of it… We’re expecting Double V to do whatever it takes to get these ‘fascists’ out of his hair, once and for all. Can he do it and truly move up to the main event? Only the PPV broadcast will have the answers!
Finally, in a match that’s been a decade in the making, two HKWF alumni will go head to head with the richest prize in GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 on the line! Lord John Taylor - Lone Gunman, Wrestler Of The Year 2004, Reigning Lord Of The Coliseum, two-time and current World Heavyweight Champion – puts his gold up against HKWF’s World Heavyweight Champion, “The Downfall” Seth Raide in what many expect to be, at the very least a candidate for Match Of The Year. These two men have wanted this match for so long, and now that it’s finally here they’re not going to disappoint! Raide’s title is not up for grabs, but should he win he’ll hold the major championships of both GZW2K1 and HKWF… Generally, that’d make him CCW Unified Heavyweight Champion, but contractual difficulties prevent such a prestigious title. We don’t expect that to make any difference to the animalistic “Downfall”, however! On the flip side, should Lord Taylor triumph, Seth Raide will walk out of the GZW for good, never to return! High stakes such as these only add fuel to the fire of an already scorching main event that is to culminate one of the longest rivalries in Combined Championship Wrestling history… We’re not lying when we promise you that this match alone will truly make the name of this sure-to-be five star event ring true!
Don’t forget to order the event on PPV now to receive a free screening of recently released GZW DVD, “Lord Of The Coliseum: Best Of”. We at GZW2K1 recommend that you memorise the full card for future reference.
