"Is this not what you all wanted?"
The voice comes from the darkness surrounding a single candle burning in an otherwise unlit room. Though the person can't be seen, it's obvious the one speaking is Kolic. He seems content to sit out of sight with only a mocking smile visible to the camera.
Kolic: Oh, you buyers and sellers of violence and destruction. The crowd demands it, GZW supplies it, and both sides are sated, if only for a time. And yet, when I bring the same things to bear against your precious federation, suddenly what I'm doing is "Wrong"? Have no doubt, I fully realize that my actions aren't moral. What I don't understand is how you can condemn what I'm doing, and yet cheer on the likes of Munin, Leon Corbin, et al., when they harm their fellow wrestlers worse than I do. If I'm in the wrong, are they not also? If their violent acts are acceptable, why aren't mine? Now that is the question you who call yourselves fans of GZW should ask yourself. Look beyond the easy titles of "face" and "heel", and think critically about what you're really supporting every time you shell out for a ticket or tune in to a broadcast. People like "Lady" Munin, who portrays herself as more honorable than I because she never lied to me or broke a promise. Yet, she finds it perfectly okay to bash a fellow wrestler's head in because she kissed her boyfriend. I would love to see how she justifies that one to everybody else.
He tries to effect a female voice that sounds less like a sweetly violent woman than an 8th grade girl with a retainer.
Kolic: "But Kolic, you tried to choke me out with a wire! How is that any different?" You're right, it's not. To me. But to all of you, with the morality system most people have, your actions would be considered worse than mine. After all, everything I did took place during a match. I know you've done worse just to get a win or prove a point, and you're well aware you weren't in any mortal danger. Your assault, however, took place on an unsuspecting victim with no motive other than raging jealousy. What was it you said to me? That my "rage" at Storm was based on the truth of your words? Maybe you should take that into account yourself. Perhaps your attack wasn't to send a message to Amanda, but to distract yourself from a truth you don't like. Are you worried that Alex is slipping away from you? That maybe his true focus is on Leon, and not you? It didn't matter who it was or what she did, I think you just wanted to prove something to him, to make him stick around so the one stable thing in your life didn't slip away. Whatever. The point is, you and the rest of the villains in GZW are no better than I. You don't deserve to have the fans' adoration, none of you do. Oh, that reminds me...
The candlelight starts to flicker, which lights Kolic up a bit more as he stretches out.
Kolic: Tamer, Tamer, Tamer. The man who loves to play hero, but always seems to disappear when times get tough. Why do you think they cheer you now? The answer is simple, it's only because you're fighting me, the guy who brained you with a chair. They wouldn't be so supportive if you were just Tamer, the guy who sticks around for a few months before diving back into a bottle or your former stalker's bed. So enjoy their adulation while you can, knowing that if you ever do truly defeat me, they'll be gone before you know it. By the way, you really think I didn't consider the possibility of the people I stabbed in the back joining up against me? You know me better than that. I didn't just anticipate it, I knew that was what would happen. Why do you think I struck the alliance with Clan Mayhem, because we have so much common ground? Of course not. Having an army at my side gives me the freedom to focus on each of you individually without the rest of the group putting me in unnecessary danger. Simple as that. When it comes to us though, they're irrelevant. I don't need them to rid myself of the oft-departing albatross that you've become. I hope one day you realize that my "betrayal" may have been in person and in front of millions, but yours were repeated and cowardly. "True friends stab you in the front, keep you from getting what you want." That's what I did, Joshua. You wanted one last Prime Time ride, rushing headlong into battle against impossible odds with your "best buddy", but I knew where that would lead. I broke the cycle for you, knowing that I would sacrifice my good name, but I did it anyway because the alternative was worse for both of us. You're welcome.
He lets out a short sign, causing the candle to almost go out.
Kolic: Battlefield: London is coming up, and there's no doubt it will be that. I'm guessing the three of you plan to jump into the fray with an epic, slow-motion action shot? Good, have fun with that while it lasts. In the end most of us will lie fallen, broken, and in great amounts of pain. And so the beat goes on. Well...
He blows out the candle.
Kolic: Until I break the cycle again...
