Feeling not so surprisingly amazing Munin made her way down the hallway to her room. It was six in the morning and fresh out of Jericho's shower, she was ready to begin her day. She just had to change into her training clothes before leaving for her run.
Her smile widened as she thought of her goodbye to a sleepy Jericho. Who could have guessed that her Dread King would be so cute when you woke him up with a kiss...or so hard to get away from.
A chuckle escaped her at the memory, but the laughter quickly died as she saw who was waiting outside her door. Her face drained of color, but she quickly regained her composure. She would not give him the benefit of seeing how much his presence unsettled her, and she would not run away. If she was ever going to move forward she had to face the past head on.
She kept telling herself this silently while she approached her door.
"What are you doing here Alex?"
Well hello to you as well Munin.
The former dual champion leaned against the door frame and crossed his arms in front of his chest with a smirk. He knew she was uncomfortable no matter how she tried to play it. He didn't know why because he honestly came in peace and had no desire to start anything with her. He still loved her.
Did you have fun with Jericho? I guess why have one Cross when you could have two right?
Her eyes turned cold at his word, and her voice even colder.
"Why how original Alex, and just how long did it take you to come up with that. Last time I checked I was in relationship with only one man...not two."
She held up a hand to stop whatever reply he may have had.
"No wait I don't really want to know what you have to say..."
Wasn't trying to be funny Nin I was being serious. It didn't take you long to jump out of bed with me and into the arms of another did it?
He was genuinely hurt and it was taking everything in him to not show the pain he was feeling. He pushed back the feelings of hurt as he kept his eyes on the woman in front of him.
"How long have you ignored me Alex. How long did you neglect our relationship, before everything really fell apart? Do you even know?"
Oh really Munin? Do you know how many times I came by your room only to find it empty? Of course you don't because you're never in it. I've come by here dozens of times trying to reach out to you and it's always the same results, and empty room. Now, I had my suspicions as to why that was but when I saw you and Jericho hand in hand in the parks or snuggling on a bench I knew why your room was always empty. Now I see you coming out of his room hair in a mess, clothes hanging off you at an hour when most people are asleep and I know for sure now why you're never here.
As for you not mattering I never said you didn't matter Munin because Lord knows you do. I told you I didn't want to worry you with stuff that was of no concern. As for the title you knew good and damn well how much that title meant to me and that I would go to every length to get that title from Leon. Did I think it would end this way? Of course not but I'll be damned if I'm gonna let you act like I don't give a shit about you when you're my everything!
"Alex I am not doing this with you, and I do not need to justify being in a new relationship with you. You threw me away, and if you doubt that you can watch the replay. As for my room always being empty that is a bold face lie. Not that it is yours or anyone else's business but I am in my room by seven o'clock at night almost every night, and last night was the first night I did not return to my room."
This was killing part of her, she was amazed that she wasn't shaking. She had to stay strong though, she could not go back.
"You haven't even called, and don't try to sit there and say you did, because you did not. I can open my phone history for you if you would like to see the records."
You're right Nin I didn't try and call but that's because I wanted to talk to you face to face to clear the air not hide behind some stupid cellphone screen.
"Well isn't that convenient for you? You seem to have that problem quite often, but you never seem to have it with other people. That and what was the other excuse? I didn't think? You do a lot of not thinking about the consequences of your actions and how they effect me. In fact one could almost say that you never think about me. You think about Alex and everyone else is just fodder for your cannon. Did you think about me or how I would see things when you stayed the night with Amanda? No, you just did it, and congratulations Alex because that was the point when I started to move on."
He couldn't help but laugh to himself as he put his hands on his hips.
I told you Nin I didn't do anything. I was struggling and needed an ear and she was available. Could I have called you? Sure I could have but I didn't because I knew you'd hang up on me so I went to Amanda.
And you know why Munin? Because despite everything I've done to you and everyone else in my life she still thinks I'm a good person. You were ready to throw me to the fucking wolves because I chose to walk out on our match instead of thinking about my side of the story. You didn't give a shit about my side of the story it was only how it cost you.
"I believe you didn't sleep with her Alex, but it doesn't matter in the end, because we have...had other issues. This whole conversation is a blinding example of one of the main ones. Poor Alex you aren't to blame, and you haven't changed. Everyone else is just ganging up on you. It all our fault...no lets see if I can get this right...its all my fault. Grow up Alex and get the fuck away from my door."
Alex held his hands up and stepped away from the door. Why did he love this woman so much seeing as she had nothing left in her heart but hate for him.
Fine.
He turned his back on her.
Guess I see where I stand with you. The woman I loved and still do holds nothing but contempt for me. So be it, see you at Heatwave.
He stopped for a moment but kept his back to her.
Tell your boyfriend to sleep with one eye open because he's not going to like the results of his actions.
"Alex.."
She let out a sigh that revealed some of the pain she was feeling.
"I do not hate you, things would be easier if I did but I don't. Don't think that I haven't mourned us, and don't think that you are the only one this hurts."
Alex looked back at Munin and desperately wanted to run over and grab her and comfort her. He loved her so much and seeing her like this tore him apart. This was killing him. If for only a moment his voice was soft and comforting, almost as if the old Alex stood in front of her. He reached out and softly brushed the side of her face with his right hand moving a stray hair back behind her ear.
I know you're confused right now Nin and I'm sorry for that. But Jericho doesn't love you, he's only taking advantage of the state you're in right now. If you weren't going through what you're going through he'd be off chasing someone else. This is nothing but a game to him Nin and it pains me to see you being put through it.
With that she calmly opened the door and closed it again, before she gave into the shaking and the silent tears. She slid down the door to sit on the floor for a few minutes in grief.
She refused to let herself stay there though, and she was soon getting back to her feet. She did her best to shake off his final words, and fought off the shiver that ran through her. It was time to move forward, and she couldn't do that by wallowing in the past.
"I need another shower..."
Her smile widened as she thought of her goodbye to a sleepy Jericho. Who could have guessed that her Dread King would be so cute when you woke him up with a kiss...or so hard to get away from.
