Fans attending Redefine Pro's latest event taping in Nova Scotia received an unexpected surprise when GZW2K1 Icon and former World Champion Jon H Kellar made an unexpected appearance.
Icon Kellar, who will represent GroundZero Wrestling in NJFC's upcoming Collision Course tournament, was thought to be scouting John Pariah, his opponent for that event. However, Kellar insisted he was merely there to support his student, Sasha Foote, in her bout against Pariah.

MATCH:004 | SPECIAL ATTRACTION MATCH
JOHN PARIAH vs SASHA FOOTE
The bell rings as both stars are given a standing ovation and streamers during their entrance. The two contenders stare at each other across the ring, when suddenly…
“CLICK CLICK BOOM!!!”
“Click Click Boom!” by Saliva fills the area and the crowd leap to their feet. The lights around the entrance sweep back and forth.
Matthews: No! It can’t be!!!
The crowd all stare towards the entranceway, fixated. After a few second, a familiar figure appears.
Matthews: IT IS!!! IT’S HIM!!!
GZW2K1’s Ring of Honor Icon and Lord of the Coliseum Jon H Kellar walks out onto the stage to an explosive (but mixed) reaction. He models a pair of smart jeans, and a sleeveless t-shirt on the front of which is the poster for NJFC Collision Course. Kellar removes his sunglasses, and looks out over the Nova Scotia crowd.
In the ring Sasha, his student, stares at him in shock, and his Collision Course opponent Pariah stands, equally stunned.
Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen… please welcome the special guest commentator for this match, GZW2K1 Globalstar and Ring of Honor Icon… the “Human Dynamite” Jon Kellar!
Icon Kellar makes his way down the ramp, revealing the back of his t-shirt reads “Team GroundZero”. He slaps a few hands in the front row as he makes his way around the ring. As he catches Pariah’s eye he points to the t-shirt.
JPO:: Pariah and Kellar have danced around each other for years, and they will meet in Japan at the end of the month… but looks like someone didn’t want to wait.
Matthews: Did you know about this?
JPO: No!
Kellar climbs up to the corner and Sasha walks over, wrapping her arms around her sensei who gives her a big hug. With a kiss on the cheek he sends her back into the ring with a whispered “Go get him!”, then moves to the commentary table.
Matthews: Well, I did not see this coming!
Kellar pulls up a chair and puts on the guest headset.
Kellar: Good evening Gentlemen…
Alex: Icon Kellar… welcome.
Kellar: Thanks for having me.
JPO: Glad you could join us after you less than kind words about this company.
Kellar: Hey… water under the bridge. I’m just looking forward to seeing a good wrestling match here.
JPO: Is this a scouting mission?
Kellar: I don’t know what you mean.
JPO: You didn’t fly here from Japan just to watch a wrestling match. You’re here to scout John Pariah…
Kellar: Or maybe I’m just here to watch one my students. Nothing strange about that, is there?
Pariah extends his hand to Sasha, offering a handshake before the match begins. She accepts-and they lock up, with Pariah using his size to get the early advantage and a side headlock. Sasha tries to shove him off-but he hits the breaks and snaps her over with a takedown. She uses her legs and wraps them around Pariahs head-breaking the hold as he floats over and tries to roll Sasha up, but she kicks out before one. Both get to their feet and give a nod of approval.
Kellar: Your brother looks pretty good… but I think Sasha’s got his number.
JPO: John is a veteran, and Sasha may be good but she lacks experience..
Kellar: Experience isn’t everything, she was my best student.
JPO: Erm… really?
Kellar: Yeah.
JPO: You know your neice is on our roster too, right?
Kellar: Sophia… doesn’t consider herself my student. I respect her wishes.
JPO: Your loss is our gain…
Kellar: So I understand, she’ll be a great champion.
Pariah looks shocked as he turns around and is met by a huge jab from Sasha. She delivers another hard boxing punch, and shoots Pariah into the ropes and connects with a running knee to the face. She lifts I’m up and delivers an uppercut, before dropping him with a jawbreaker. She takes him down at the legs and gets a one count with a pin attempt, as both stars get to their feet and nod with approval again. Pariah shakes the cobwebs out, and the two lock up again, this time Pariah takes her down with an armdrag. She gets up and responds with one of her own. Pariah gets up and goes for a hiptoss-but he catches her by the leg and drops her shoulder first onto his knee as the crowd pops. He hooks her into a cover and she kicks out before the one count, as Pariah sighs and lifts her up. He shoots her into the corner and follows up with a running splash in the corner. He steps back as she slumps in the corner-and he cannonballs her. Sasha rolls out of the way as Pariah’s lower back hits the bottom turnbuckle. The crowd pops as she lifts him up and shoves him into the corner-hitting a running dropkick to his lower back. She pulls him out and hits a pair of strikes to the back-before a hard backdrop slam. She waits for him to get up, and goes for a hip toss of her own-quickly snapping him around with a neck breaker mid move. The crowd pops as she goes for a pin:
ONE!
TWO!
TH—KICKOUT!
In the ring, she lifts up Pariah and shoots him into the ropes, following up with a big corner clothesline. She pulls him out and snaps him over with a suplex, before rolling through and hitting a second and a third. She lifts him up for a fourth-but drops him with a brain buster as the crowd pops. She goes for another cover:
ONE!
TWO—-KICKOUT!
She lifts up Pariah, sending him into the corner again. She goes for another running splash-but Pariah catches her and drops her with a back breaker across his knee. Sasha rolls to the middle of the ring, as Pariah hits a running senton-before bridging into an umbrella pin. Sasha kicks out at two by rolling Pariah up into a crucifix. Pariah rolls out and quickly responds with a kick to her ribs as the crowd pops. He smirks, lifting her up and shooting her into the ropes. He catches her in an STO-and leans her foward-before flipping his head back and dropping her face first into the mat.
JPO: LIGHTS OUT!
Shawn: John hasn’t done that move in months.
PO: So with your match against John Pariah at the end of the month you must be getting a little worried. He’s in great shape!
Kellar: …
JPO: Nothing?
Kellar: I thought…
JPO: You thought he’d be over the hill? Past his prime?
Kellar: Those are your words.
JPO: He’s looking better than you expected and you’re scared…
Kellar: ….
Pariah rolls her up, looking to score a quick win:
ONE!!
TWO!!
THRE—-KICKOUT!
The crowd is shocked as Sasha kicks out before the three count, as Pariah shoves her into the corner-and delivers a series of chops. He steps back, and goes for a running knee-but Sasha gets her feet up. She pulls him up and hits a Tornado DDT out of the corner. The crowd pops loudly as she goes for a cover of her own:
ONE!!
TWO!!
THRE—-KICKOUT!
Sasha sighs, lifting him up. She shoots him into the ropes and telegraphs a backdrop-getting a kick to the face for her troubles. Pariah bounces off the near ropes and goes for Mirakuru-but Sasha ducks it and hits a drop toe hold. She floats over into a front face lock-trying to take the air out of Pariah. They fight to a vertical base, as Pariah eventually lifts Sasha up onto his shoulders. The crowd EXPLODES as he hits a Go To Sleep-dropping Sasha to her knees on the mat. He holds his fingers like a gun-and points them at a kneeling Sasha, before hitting the ropes and goes for his penalty kick knee strike.
JPO: He could be going for the Last Kiss Good—NO!!
Sasha ducks the kick and gets up-hitting the ropes and connecting with a Problem Solver as Pariah turns arounds. Her feet met Pariah squarely in the face as he goes down to the mat. The crowd explodes as Sasha goes for the cover:
ONE!!
TWO!!!
THREE!!!!!!!!
Kellar: Come on!!!
Kellar leaps to his feet and applauds as Sasha celebrates.
JPO: NO WAY!
WINNER: SASHA FOOTE via PINFALL
The crowd explodes as Sasha pulls herself to her feet, smiling at her victory as Mercedes proclaims her the winner.
JPO: Sasha Foote just beat John Pariah.
Shawn: If anybody doubted Sasha’s place at the top of this roster…they can shut their damn mouth now!
In the ring, the crowd throws some streamers into the ring, as Sasha celebrates, after a moment-she see’s Pariah pulling himself to his feet. He gets up, and they meet face to face in the middle of the ring. After a staredown, Pariah extends his hand-and offers a handshake as the crowd pops loudly. Her music reprises as she holds his arms up, before heading up the ramp. Pariah see’s Kellar at the commentary table still, and points to him-saying “29th Jon. ICON…vs ICONIC…” as the crowd pops. Kellar leaves the commentary table and makes his way round the ring. He looks across at Pariah as he makes his exit and points to his t-shirt.
Kellar: “You’re mine…”

Jon Kellar's state of mind has been the subject of significant speculation these past weeks, following what many feel was a lacklustre performance at the recent Heatwave XII event. It remains to be seen whether the Jon Kellar who achieved so much during his time in the ring truly has returned, or whether this will be another damp squib.
When questioned, Kellar refused to comment on speculation that he would be at the upcoming Crimson event in Japan.
