The air was a cool breeze that heralded the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall, and Munin savored the feel of it in comparison to the heat of the sun.
She had already rolled up the long cotton sleeves of her white cotton shirt to allow for easier movement in the garden, and the cool breeze on her exposed skin felt heavenly. She hadn't exactly planned on doing any gardening during her stay in Japan, but it seems that a certain horse had other plans. Despite her grumbling about horses and stupid pig headed men that rode them, she actually found the gardening peaceful.
Tending to her great uncle's garden (now her own garden) felt very...human and ordinary.
It was a nice change from the craziness of the wrestling world, and the board rooms for that matter.
She was happy, happier because of the time spent with Jericho, and happier still because of the time she was getting to spend with her son. He was growing up so fast, and she only imagine how surreal it would feel if she had actually had him in her life since his birth. How did parents deal with the shock of seeing their baby boy turn into a young man?
Today was a day for her though, a little alone time while she battled the damage done by a horse's teeth.
Munin: Damn horse...what horse tries to eat a bonsai tree?
*Clip*
Munin: Joshua's horse that's what horse.
*Clip*
Munin: A horse he won't admit is his!
*Clip, clip, clip*
Munin: Stupid horse...Stupid man!
*CLIP*
While she was supposed to be alone today, the sound of movement in the garden however, alerted her to the fact that she was not alone. She adjusted her grip on the shears, and took a mental inventory of the blades she currently had tucked away.
Who could it be... Travis, no him and Jericho were going sword shopping. Maybe Tamer...indeed perhaps that ridiculous man was seeing clearly.
She had already been through the fine print Tamer was fired yes...Career ended. Joshua Dane. That was a different story, and it was less ludicrous than tying a bandana around his face. That stubborn, like most it was always satisfying when people came around to realize you were right.
Then again...there were a number of companies having shows in Japan right now. It would be best to be prepared.
The person approaching did her best to move in a clearly non threatening manner. She knew far too well how one footfall could quickly change the dynamic of the coming conversation. Eve, the self proclaimed Queen of Hearts cames into view
Munin: Well...This is a bit unexpected.
Munin went back to her clipping, but was careful to keep the other woman in view.
Munin: What exactly brings me the pleasure of the Queen of Hearts company?
Eve smiles amused by her own nickname being used.
Eve: Matters of the heart... What else?
Munin's own lips curved into a smile at her answer.
Munin: Ah, Joshua...
Eve's eyebrows perked hearing Joshua used in place of Tamer.
Eve: Yes. That ridiculous man and his horse.
The nearly amused smile immediately dropped to a look of annoyance at the mention of the horse.
Munin: Yes, the horse he refuses to admit is his, and here I thought boys grew out of playing cowboy.
Eve let a sultry giggle escape.
Eve: He always has been a fan of theatrics. Did you know that he truly spent time acting as a vigilante? Got himself in to quite a lot of trouble. Least of which was ending up on my radar.
The giggle caused much of Munin's annoyance to dissipate.
Munin: Yes, I am fond of doing my homework on the people I work with. Though it wouldn't have surprised me anyways. He does have a bit of a hero complex...So how can I help you today?
Eve pondered her options. An offer like that from a woman like Munin didn't come around everyday.
Eve: Finish the job Marcus started on his knee.
She said the with the utmost seriousness, but the deadpan expression quickly changed in a smile. She had to give an exasperated sigh though. It really was a shame that she loved him so much.
Eve: I kid. We need to get him to believe in himself. Believe in the man he could be. And stop seeing himself as the boy that made mistakes and can only do good when cloaked in a persona.
Munin pocketed her shears with a sigh, and wiped her hands on her jeans.
Munin: I have already said as much to him. I honestly don't know how we could "make" him believe in himself. I think it is something he will have to figure out on his own. Trust me I would like nothing more than for him to return under his own name.
She tucked a strand of hair that had escaped her messy bun back behind her ear.
Munin: Trust me, it would benefit more than just him if he did.
Eve: He blames himself for Marcus.
Nodding her head, Munin beckoned for Eve to follow her towards the house.
Munin: He seems to blame everyone for Kolic except for Kolic...
Eve obliged by following the dark haired beauty
Eve: Which is why... I can not even believe I am saying this. I need your help with a very ridiculous plan of my own.
Eye brows raised and eyes curious, Munin silently invited Eve into her home.
Munin: I am listening.
Eve sighed, looked around her surrounding quickly taking stock. It never hurt to be aware after all. After a moment Eve turned to face Munin with a very serious look on her face
Eve: After your show... I am taking Vera home. What I need you to do, right before his match at Bound by Honor. Well. Munin I need you to steal his Desperado gear.
Pausing in taking off her shoes Munin let out a burst into delighted. She glanced over at the other woman, who was also taking off her shoes, with mischievous glee.
Munin: Oh, I like this plan...So you want me to steal his outfit? Do you promise to take that horse far away from my bonsai? I don't need it coming back here when Joshua comes to call. The damn thing ate a ten year old bonsai.
Eve nods
Eve: On a ranch in Arizona. I will give you gear to switch out with his, and I will make arrangements with the sound guy. He will have two choices; run and hide, OR fight as Joshua Dane.
They walked through the shoji doorway, and through the simple Japanese elegance of Munin's home in silence. Munin mulled over the other woman's proposition, weighing the pros and cons, as well as the possible outcomes. By the time they reached the modernized kitchen Munin had reached her decision.
Munin: You can consider it done. I will be good for him...and very entertaining for me.
She smiled wickedly at Eve while she said the last part.
Eve: Excellent. In the interim. I hear you make the best tea?
Munin chuckled at her praise, and set about putting water onto boil.
Munin: I like to think I make a decent cup.
At the mention of cups she set out two, and the loose tea and honey beside it.
Munin: Will you join me for a cup?
Eve: I would be honored.
Munin: As would I...
