We are down, but we aren’t out. On the shoulders of John Champa, this place will once again rise to prominence.
John Champa, the former Gzw2k1 World Heavyweight Champion, stands in front of a giant GZW logo.
For years all we’ve heard about where these so called, bleeding heart, Ground Zero lifers. Leon Corbin, John Kellar, James Corbin, Sean Fiery, Nathan Williams and the list goes on and on of people, former Champions, who would fill the air with lies and empty promises, hoping the fans would take them at their word. Me, unlike the rest of the world, didn’t believe a word they said. I knew these people were full of shit and would say only what they knew the fans wanted to hear.
I made no bones about wanting to leave this place, but this place was always in my heart because I built this place with my own two hands. I am the sole reason that this place has tasted success these past 7 years. While you may scoff at the notion, it’s all facts, tangible facts. Go back review the tapes, study the cards, analyze the date and you will see that when John Champa is not featured on any event the attendance drops, drastically. This has nothing to do with my character being a “Heel” a rule breaker, but rather the fact that the fans believe that I am the best at what I do. The fans believe that I am the measuring stick for people like Leon and others.
I’m here, not because some back stage politicking got me to the top, but because pure unadulterated talent gave rise to the Big Shot. The men and women in the back, since my debut, has tried their hardest to silence my mouth. Yea, I took my lumps in the ring, I was defeated quite a few times but even in defeat I was still cast at the main player on the roster of Champions.
I gave renewed inspiration and guidance to wrestlers like Kolic, Kate, Sean Locke, Raze, and Kid Kaos. I was the reason behind their resurgence or rebirth in many cases. I brought out the best in everyone…EVERYONE who stood across from me in the ring. I am, and will always be, the true king of Ground Zero Wrestling. James Corbin and all those other pathetic legends and Ring of Honor Iconic figures wouldn’t dare step foot in the ring with me, not out of fear, but out of respect for the way I conduct myself in the squared circle. They know they can’t dance with the master. Leon himself was always afraid to step in the ring with me, but his refusal was out of fear. Fear that I would prove to the world that Lord Fruity Booty is nothing but hype.
But now he, along with others have walked out, walked out on the company that made them. Walked out on the company that handed them instant success, all because of a name. I made my own fucking name. I didn’t need to associate myself with someone already established, just to get to the top. I entered this place as Victor Storm, went through a character overhaul and I now stand before you John Champa….Greatness in the Goddamn Flesh.
All you walk out, have the nerve to tell this company, my fucking company, that your name and likeness isn’t to be used, who gives a fuck what you want. You didn’t care enough to quit the right way, why should we cater to your needs and wants. Leon, you were the World Champion and you were to chicken shit to defend it on your way out. You were too inconsiderate of bitch to step into the ring and defend the title with honor. But that’s ok because I will be the new World Heavyweight Champion soon…and on the back of John Champa this place will once again rise to the top, this place will once again be the cream of the crop but more importantly this place will have a Champion it can be proud of and not one who will run because he can’t get his way. Give me the ball, Ground Zero, and let me carry you back to the top.
The scene fades out.
