Iconic Strategic Investment has ended its pursuit of continuing to broadcast GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 because of Ground Zero Enterprises decision to stop airing professional wrestling on it's Ground Zero Global Network. It was officially announced last week that I.S.I. had successfully bought GZW2K1 from GZG at an undisclosed amount.
I.S.I., a New York-based media investment company, announced its withdrawal in a one-sentence statement this morning. I.S.I.'s statement said it has decided to withdraw completely out of the GZW2K1 business because of the lack of a solid broadcast deal.
Without a broadcast deal, GZW2K1's value consists primarily of its extensive film library of numerous wrestling stars dating back to the 1990s, production equipment, merchandise, and some exercise equipment. It is believed that most, if not all, of these will be auctioned off publicly in the coming days in order for I.S.I to recoup monies spent.
Spokesmen for Spike Network and Fox Sports Networks said they were not interested in broadcasting GZW2K1.
