Holly Fortune helps Tate, bruised and battered, into his office upstairs in the Command Suite of the GZW Coliseum. The side of Holly’s face is starting to swell from the punch she received from Monarch. She guides Tate over to the couch and assists him in lying down.
Tate: (holding his left arm)
Are you alright, Angel(Tate’s pet name for his ex-sister in law)?
Holly: (wrapping some ice cubes into a handkerchief and placing it onto the side of her face)
I’ve been better, Tate. What about yourself?
Tate: (sitting up, letting go of his arm)
I’m cool. I expected as much from Profit and the rest of Bad Influence, but not Kandi. She has been the mastermind behind this whole Profit takeover shit from the beginnin’. Nikita and I wondered how Profit got the Executive Board of GZE to vote him into the Presidency, and now we know who persuaded them.
Holly: (sitting in chair across from him)
It makes no sense to me though. I mean, Nikita and you have been nothing but good to her, professionally and personally.
Tate walks over to his desk and picks up his Rolodex. He flips through it searching for a number.
Holly:
At least Billy Bond showed up when he did or things could have been a lot worse for you and Maxx Pain.
Tate: (slamming down the Rolodex)
Damn! I forgot about Smooth!! If I know Bad Influence they will be on the immediate attack. I have to get to Smo…
Before the Director of Wrestling Affairs can finish his sentence, the door to his office bursts inward as Deacon Kane steps into the office followed by Sincere, Monarch, the StormRiders, and Kandi Fortune.
Tate: (shouting)
Angel, get down!!
Tate charges at the approaching GZW Heavyweight Champion. With a single punch, Deacon drops Tate to the carpeted floor. Monarch and the StormRiders pounce on the downed rebel with punches and kicks. Holly sees her older sister, who is paying no attention to Holly. She rushes at Kandi, but Sincere grabs her by the hair and pulls her to the floor.
Kandi: (turning to see Sincere with Holly)
Don’t hurt her, Sincere.
Sincere picks up the youngest known Fortune sibling, holding her with her arm behind her back. Kandi pushes Monarch and the StormRiders aside as she bends down over the semiconscious Tate.
Kandi:
On behalf of GroundZero Wrestling 2K1, Profit International, and GroundZero Enterprises, I am so proud to inform you, “foundin’ father”, that your services are no longer needed. You are now looking at the new Director of ALL Wrestling Operations. And my first official act is to fire your punk ass, Tate!!
Kandi rises and turns to Holly who is still being held by Sincere. Holly struggles to break from the Jade Dragon’s firm grasp, but she has no luck.
Kandi: (gets in Holly’s face)
As for you, sweet little sister, I want you to carry a message back to our high and mighty eldest sister. Tell Nikita that it’s my turn. It’s time for Kandi to stake her claim to the Fortune name. If you are smart, Holly, you would think about whom you align yourself with. (Kandi grabs Holly’s face by the cheeks) Remember your name is Fortune, not Edmonson. Not even Nikita could deny that fact, Holly.
Kandi lets go of Holly’s face. Holly stares at her middle sister with pure hate.
Holly: (spits in Kandi’s face)
Fuck you, Kandi!! I’ll never be like you!! NEVER!!
Kandi with unbelievable quickness reaches back and smacks Holly cleanly across her face, leaving a red handprint. The hit is so forceful that as Sincere lets Holly go, the smack spins Holly in a complete 360-degree spin before she falls to the floor. Kandi wipes her face off with her sleeve. She looks down at her little sister in disdain.
Kandi:
You will come to respect me, Holly! You are more like me than you care to realize!
Kandi walks out of the room leaving Holly holding her face and whimpering. The StormRiders, Monarch, and Sincere follow behind the Director of All Wrestling Operations. Deacon Kane stands over the now unconscious Tate. Deacon stares down at him with what seems to be a look of pity. Before the look can be registered, Deacon walks out of the office with his normal look of evil.
