Magic is shown inside of Crystal and Billy's home, pacing around in the living room. Crystal comes into the room holding a glass of water. Magic is biting his finger nails, obviously nervous.
Crystal: You shouldn't bite your finger nails! It's a bad habit and I wont have it.
Magic: Oh sorry. I guess I am a little nervous about what is going to come tonight. And people are getting mad at me. They look at me like I am dirt now, and I don't get it! All I am trying to do is what I feel is best.
Crystal: Don't worry, Steph will accept your announcement and I am sure it won't be a big deal.
Magic: Won't be a big deal? This is the decision to change my life, forever! Do you seriously think this is going to go smoothly? Steph and I haven't even talked for the past few days, and I am worried she has a clue about something.
Crystal: Don't worry about a thing. I think you should do this publicly too. That way if she gets a little too over excited I can come and calm her down. WAIT! Did you hear that?
A car is heard in the background, pulling in the driveway.
Magic: Yes, who is it?!
Crystal: Billy. We can't let him see you here. He might come in on our conversation and we will break the surprise. You go out the backdoor, I'll talk to you later. As a matter a fact, I'll be at Manslaughter so we can talk then.
Magic: OK.
Crystal and Magic hug in a friendly manner. Magic grabs his coat and darts out the back door. Baz then walks in the door, limping due to his recent injury.
Baz: Hey Crys! You mind helping me with these presents for Billy?
Crystal: Yeah Baz.
Crystal and Baz walk towards the door. She then sees Magic jump the wall and trips Baz.
Baz: Hey! What was that for?
Crystal: I'm, uh, testing your balance.
Baz: You know, you have been acting a little weird lately. I don't know if it's the eggnog or the season stress, but you are starting to scare me.
Crystal helps Baz to his feet. Magic is seen in the background, getting into his car across the street, and speeding off down the road. Crys and Baz get back to their duties as the scene fades.
