Reports have slowly filtered in concerning the contract talks with Ring of Honor Icon Jason "Fubu" Makaveli. As reported earlier Icon Makaveli is said to be back in top physical wrestling conditionafter injuries suffered years ago at the hands of Icon Sincere. It is unsure in what capacity GZW2K1 is looking to bring back Icon Makaveli or what role he himself would like to take on his return, but it is a known fact that J-Mac hasn't competed at a peak level since mid-2002. Like all Ring of Honor Icons, J-Mac is signed to a lifetime "Icon contract" with GZW2K1 enabling his likeness and name to be used in marketting and merchandising.
Contrary to popular belief, and the ranting of the man himself, executives of GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 are extremely pleased with Vernon Vanderbilt's on and off screen actions. The P.L.O.W. head honcho has been receiving a massive push since his unmasking as Nocturne earlier this year. Many believe that Vanderbilt is past the point of readiness to burden the workload of World Heavyweight Champion especially now that current World Heavyweight Champion Zachary Sharp is mired in contractual disputes with United Japan Wrestling, limiting his on-air appearances for GZW2K1.
On top of Vanderbilt's actions alone, the Command Suite is equally pleased with Leon Taylor as of late. It would seem that recent fatherhood, pending nuptials with Vernon Vanderbilt, or both have seemingly mellowed the once high strung and volatile former Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion. Though the executives are happy with the man that still leads the pack as the most fined wrestler in GZW2K1 history, fanboards all over the Internet are voicing their displeasure concerning the "...taming of the Vicious One". Many foresee Taylor as soon taking a major face turn in the near future especially if his "partner" attains the World Heavyweight title as expected.
No one is sure why Chris Cairns returned for one night only with his Chris Cairns Show on the previous Crimson broadcast as it is a well known fact that Cairns has no love for the business, especially where it concerns GroundZero Wrestling 2K1. Though the ratings have yet to be officially released from the Crimson show, it is to be believed that the Chris Cairns Show scored dismay points, particularly for the prime slot at the top of the broadcast where ratings are normally at their peak. It will remain to be seen whether or not Cairns will continue to appear on GZW2K1 broadcast in the future regardless of the role.
The spoiler news making the rounds lately is that Kristopher Kashten is scheduled to willing drop the "Wild Card" Eddie Knoxville Television championship at the next Fierce broadcast. It is unclear how Kris Kash plans to drop the title but some believe that he will lay down for his Elite stablemate, SpYral, and allow him to get the pinfall. While other believe that Kash will literally drop the title belt at his opponents feet and walk out of the arena. No conclusive evidence as to why Kash is forfeiting the title as neither he or the Command Suite (Fierce General Manager Mark Dent specifically) will respond to inquires about the matter.
