Clearly absent from the Fallout: Root of All Evil pay-per-view was the "Wild Card" Eddie Knoxville Television Champion Desolate Mu. While he wasn't booked to defend his newly won title, Desolate was scheduled to make an appearance on the broadcast. It is being whispered that Mister Mu and his family were sent home by GZW2K1 officials earlier in the week after a "misunderstanding" was reported to the Cairo authorities by a local physican. Though there is no concrete evidence, the misunderstanding involves the theft of certain enhancement drugs from a local medical clinic by Jessica Bell, Desolate's interpreter. The official reason given by GZW2K1 for Desolate's absence is that "...the Mu family suffered a family emergency which needed their immediate attention as such Desolate Mu was excused from duty until the matter was resolved."
It was only by special provision between the Egyptian and American embassies that Jason Thomason was allowed a working visa into the country. Unbeknowst to most, Thomason was flown in two days prior to the pay-per-view event, housed within a special area within the American embassy, and immediately following his match was flown back to America. Thomason is currently out on bond as federal charges against him are being trialed in the United States.
Initial reports concerning the identity of the mystery opponent for Leon Taylor had it to be United Japan Wrestling Super Heavyweight Champion Hiroyoshi Nakanishi. Scheduling conflicts ultimately led to Nakanishi not being able to be booked for the match as he is scheduled to defend the UJW SuperHeavyweight title in a matter of days following Fallout: Root of All Evil. The second option was to re-sign former GZW2K1 Intercontinental Heavyweight Champion Sweet Cheapshots to a one night contract. Sweet Cheapshot was involved in a heated feud with Taylor prior to his premature retirement from the squared circle. It was revealed that the wrestler turned road agent recently underwent extensive back surgery and was deemed unfit to perform. It was due these reasons why Bane was pulled in as the mystery opponent.
It is unknown whether or not Bane's recent appearance on Fallout: Root of All Evil is a one time affair or if the "God of Pain" has actually inked a new wrestling contract with GroundZero Wrestling 2K1. It is no secret that the former Hong Kong Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight Champion has no real desire for the sport any longer yet continues to appear on Ground Zero Global Network airwaves from time to time. Internet polls recently revealed that an overwhelming amount of fans wish to see Bane back in full time action.
Due to her actions during the Leon Taylor/Bane match, Commissioner Devotion Profit is rumored to be placed on 90 day suspension with pay pending an investigation that starts today. Commissioner Profit inserted herself into the aforementioned match, doused a table with gasoline, and proceeded to light it on fire. The youngest daughter of HKWF President John Profit has become increasingly mentally unstable over the past several months leading many to believe her ousting from her executive position was/is inevitable. Both Commissioner Profit and representatives of the GZW2K1 Command Suite have declined to issue a statement concerning this matter.
It is said that the Command Suite is very high on the idea of Jackson Walker, better known as Cell Block, as the GZW2K1 United States Heavyweight Champion. Walker has been very instrumental in the feud with Jason and Devinn Price and was a key organizer of the Buried Alive Handicap match on Fallout: Root of All Evil. Conversation has it that several former U.S, Heavyweight Champions are in line to either return full-time or appear as a one-off to face Cell Block in the coming months. Most notable are Ring of Honor Icon Pimp Bizkit, former three-time U.S. Heavyweight Champion Kid Kaos, and Amun Ma'at.
With the departure of Kris Kash last month, Raze joining Nikita "Strife" Fortune's Voodoo group, and SpYral striking out on his own, the Command Suite has supposedly lost faith in the Price Brothers. Rumor has it that now that the U.S. title is no longer in the hands of Jason Price, both he and Devinn will be regulated to the pursuit of the World Tag Team Championship on the Fierce broadcast and then ultimately to the lower midcard status.
An unofficial inquiry is being conducted concerning the acccident surrounding Sean Locke during the GZW2K1 Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship match. The mechanism holding the top rope to the turnbuckle was not secured properly and became loose when Locke was attempting a springboard manuever. Locke was unable to complete the duration of the match and was rushed to a local medical facility in Cairo, Egypt. This accident marks the second time that an opponent of I.C. Champion Kandi Fortune-Corbin was hurt while competing against her (see Vitamin G). Many are speculating whether or not Fortune-Corbin did not instigate the injury of Locke by tampering with the ring ropes prior to tthe match. Mrs. Fortune-Corbin refused to answer any questions at this time.
Depending on the severity of the injures suffered by Sean Locke, expect The Spark to continue to get majorly pushed against Fortune-Corbin for the Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship. Many within the Command Suite feel that Locke is a more than ready to compete at that level and a healthy feud with a ring veteran such as The Phoenix will only prepare him for a main event jump.
Voodoo member, Raze, was beyond irate after being eliminated from the main event Four Man Elimination match by interference his friend and former Elite stablemate, SpYral. Eyewitnesses say that Raze had to be physically restrained and escorted from the Cairo International Stadium by GZW2K1 security and Cairo police authority. No confirmation yet to as why Spyral turned on his friend and costing Raze what could have possibly been a good chance for him to obtain the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship.
Executives were up in arms concerning Vernon Vanderbilt's tirade against the Egyptian population and it's culture. The Egyptian government has threatened to sue GroundZero Wrestling, it's governing body, Ground Zero Global, and the parent company, GroundZero Enterprises. All functions scheduled after Fallout: Root of All Evil have been cancelled including a Fan Fair Expo and Thursday Titan broadcast which was to have Vernon Vanderbilt face Zachary Sharp for the World Heavyweight Championship.
Insiders also believe that Vanderbilt was finally going to go over on Sharp cleanly at Fallout: Root of All Evil and capture the World title, but last minute changes were made to where Leon Taylor, serving as special guest referee, made the count on both men's shoulders and awarding the title to Sharp. Many expect major punishment to be levied against Vanderbilt concerning this issue, ranging from monetary fines to suspension to complete contract termination.
