It has been confirmed by Ground Zero Global representatives that GroundZero Wrestling 2K1's Crimson broadcast that was scheduled to air on 20th May 2007 was pulled mere moments from broadcasting live due to protesting turned violent. Groups such as the resurgent and prone to violence Parents Against GZW2K1 and the Westboro Baptist Church lead by Reverand Fred Phelps were out enmass vocalizing their disapproval of GZW2K1's open approach of the committment ceremony between Leon Taylor and Vernon Vanderbilt. In turn the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation was on the scene showing their support when several skirmishes broke out before leading to a near full on riot outside of the GZW2K1 Coliseum. Atlanta Police Department's riot squad was called and joined efforts with GZW2K1's own security force. It was then that officials of GZG Network decided to pull the plug on the live broadcasting of the wrestling show.
Though not live, the show was taped live and plans are for it to be broadcast in the upcoming days. Many expect it to be heavily editted as it was reported by those who attended the event that fights erupted all throughout the night in the crowd between those for and against homosexual marriage.
