Helmet Epstein, better known to the Ground Zero Global wrestling world as The Dark Apollo, has been released from his GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 contract. The official reason released by the Command Suite for his termination has been cited as violation of the company's Wellness Program. Since it was believed Dark Apollo was only signed to a probationary contract, a violation of any of the articles of the Wellness Program is cause for termination. Others sources are speculating that Apollo's firing comes on the heels of his constant questioning and exposing of ongoing conspiracies within GZW2K1.
With Ring of Honor Icon James "Monarch" Corbin still hospitalized for the foreseeable future, Kandi Fortune-Corbin recovering from a back injury sustained at Aftermath2K7, the hectic business schedule of GroundZero Enterprises Senior Vice-President of European Operations Nikita "Strife" Fortune, recent talks have surfaced concerning a restructuring of Voodoo and Kindred stables. Chief amongst the most vocal is purported to be Kindred member and Gound Zero Global Unified Heavyweight Champion 2007 Lord of the Coliseum Leon Taylor. There is no official evidence but Lord Taylor is looking to fashion a more streamlined crew consisting of himself, ex-"Wild Card" Eddie Knoxville Television Champion Eva Hikari, GZG Triple Crown Extreme Champion Jericho "Raze" Cross, and GZW2K1 United States Heavyweight Champion Rupert Martin.
Reports are circulating that Anniversary Armageddon, celebrating GZW2K1's eighth year of existence, will be a star studded event. Talks have begun to secure the appearance of 2004 Lord of the Coliseum "The Lone Gunman" John Taylor, Ring of Honor Icon "Smooth Operator" Billy Bond, and Ring of Honor Icon 2002 Lord of the Coliseum "Wicked Ways" Deacon Kane. Several ideas have been thrown around concerning the appearance of every single World Heavyweight Champion but nothing has been finalized as of yet. As of press time there are a few matches already slanted for the upcoming pay-per-view in San Antonio, Texas.
February 1st, 2008 will mark the official name change of GZG Network to Ground Zero Global 360 (GZG360). Expect major lineup changes with the programming of the network including televised broadcasts of mixed martial arts organization, GLORY.
