Latest news is that Ground Zero Global has severed ties with GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 wrestler Trystan Lloyd. The once Voodoo member has been released following further investigation concerning the violation of GroundZero Global’s Code of Conduct due to a wager placed on the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight title match between Vernon Vanderbilt and Zachary Sharp at Heatwave IV last August. Though, allegations at the time were denied by both Lloyd and Sharp and the case was dropped due to the lack of evidence to back up the claims, new light has since been shed on the matter thanks to an inside source within GroundZero Global.
Lloyd, initially, was to face suspension and a fine for his actions but with his six month probationary wrestling contract up for possible renewal, the Executive Committee decided on both a fine and complete dismissal as an active wrestler. Zachary Sharp has been fined but no further action has been taken against him other than a warning since he is viewed highly by the company after several years of loyalty to GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 whereas Lloyd was not considered an asset to the company.
Consequently, with Lloyd released, he will not be participating in the upcoming Contest of Champions IX and Sharp’s slot has also been filled as part of his punishment while the integrity of the former World Champion is still being explored. There is currently a growing interest as to who tipped off the Executive board but rumour has it that the person is someone knowledgeable of GroundZero’s policies and may have a grudge with either man.
At the time of his release, Trystan Lloyd had no comment regarding the nonrenewal of his contract. Voodoo figurehead and GZE Senior President of European Operations Ms. Nikita Fortune was unavailable for comment on the matter.
