The Jaguar's Claws
Welcome everyone to my brand new weekly topical column in GZW's Hotwire magazine: The Jaguar's Claws.
I'm Jackie Lee, GZW's finest colour commentator and the first ever HKWF Hong Kong Champion! Known during my wrestling career as the Jaguar, this column will be no holds barred, no nonsense, and the claws will definitely be out! If you don't agree with my opinions, write me a letter of complaint... I need something to light my fire!
Well, today's hot topic is the start of the women's division! And what a start it was! On the untelevised GZW show, Wednesday Wyldsyde, the first round began with Mooncat, Claire McRillis, Elexia LeCroix and Jessica Wuchie all going through! Already there are some nasty feuds brewing and the standard of wrestling has been phenomenal. Two out of the four matches ended with controversial victories that were little else than a 'bi' for the ladies. It appears that in Claire McRillis, Pride is carving out a similar niche of backstage attacks. I'm not complaining! It worked, as Maxxine Pain was unceremoniously taken out of the tournament! News around here is that when Maxxine Pain's contract is up for renewal soon, it will not be extended. Elsewhere, the ridiculous old lady that is Mrs. Murakame was taken out of the tournament with illness: I can only thank goodness for small mercies! One thing GZW does not need, is the farce like women's matches we've seen in other federations. With impressive victories for Mooncat and Elexia, people are already predicting that if they were to meet in the semis, it would be one hell of a match.
The tournament continues next week when amongst others, Ecstasy, Vampira, Crystal, Steph Fiery, Tokyo Rose and Tonya Glory in action. Personally, I'm looking forward to the debut of hot talent Ecstasy, who was quite a coup for GZW to sign. Also, it's gonna be great to see one of HKWF's finest in the ring in the form of Vampira. Expect the HKWF girl to put on quite a show!
My opinion of women's wrestling was somewhat close to that of the T&A, nice bit of eye candy/ filler. Hell, that's why I asked for the division to be formed. But very quickly, I've been extremely impressed by the talent shown by the women in GZW! I applaud Sincere for his commitment to the roster, and his serious attitude towards the division. You can bet that the eventual winner of the ladies title, will be a worthy champion and a hell of an athlete.
Well that's the Jaguar's Claws for this week, so until next time: Sayonara!
