The chorus of "Ground Zero" by The Diplomats hits the Sports Legend Complex sound system as the Zero-Tron switches from the Crimson banner to the visual history of the lineage of the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship. Collected images of "The First" Paul Spartan, then known as Kage, carrying the Extreme Wrestling Order Heavyweight Championship belt through the halls of the EWO arena to "The Enforcer" T-Rex holding up the EWO Heavyweight Championship belt after winning the untelevised first Contest of Champions to Sho "Firefly" Murakame holding up the same EWO belt after a tainted win over Nathan "T-Rex" Williams and quickly to "Champion of the People" T-Rex putting the EWO belt over his shoulder after he successfully wins the belt from "The Fairplay Enforcer" Firefly for the second time cascade the Zero-Tron. The images change to "The Jade Dragon" Sincere Hiroshuma smiling evilly with the newly changed GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 Heavyweight Championship title as he points to T-Rex standing in the middle of the ring on a Monday Manslaughter. That scene blends into "The Desert Storm" Sean "Magic" Fiery hoisted onto the shoulders of the fan favorites in the middle of the ring after his triumphant GZW2K1 Heavyweight Championship victory over Sincere at the first Heatwave pay-per-view. As quickly as the scene came about it is replaced with the massive "Wicked One" Deacon Kane holding the GZW2K1 Heavyweight title after already defeating Firefly and T-Rex in matches beforehand that night on a specially broadcast Monday Manslaughter.

The faces of past Globalstars flash across the Zero-Tron ranging from Ring of Honor Icon Jason "Fubu" Makavelli, Ring of Honor Icon Eric "Complete Chaos" Montair to Ring of Honor Icon "Lil' Devil" Hades Fiery, and "Wild Card" Eddie Knoxville. It continues with the faces of current Globalstars ranging from Tamer, Piper Sanchez, and Kolic to Alex Cross. Large multi-colored letters of “G-Z-W” flash by rapidly before the scene continues on with the visual lineage of the company’s top title.

“Smooth Operator” Billy Bond is decked out in his full tuxedo holding the GZW2K1 Heavyweight Championship title into the air after cleanly beating Lord of the Coliseum 2002 Deacon Kane for the second time. The scene fades into the now famous “Upset” match where we see Billy Bond holding up the arm of Zachary Sharp and handing him the GZW2K1 Heavyweight title. This changes to “Career Killer” Maxx Pain with the world recognized GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship belt around his waist as he walks backward up the rampway laughing at Zac Sharp who is still in a steel cage after dropping the title. An explosion is shown and heard as “The Wrestling Franchise” James “Monarch” Corbin stands in the ring holding the United Japan Wrestling Super Heavyweight and Hong Kong Wrestling Federation World titles as the GZW2K1 World title is strapped around his waist after defeating Maxx at Contest of Champions III. Zac Sharp being handed the World Heavyweight title after defeating Maxx Pain and Monarch on a Sunday Storm is replayed. Paul Spartan, holding the World title for the second time in his career, falling out of the door of the first ever GZW2K1 Highway to Hell cage at the Fallout: Destination Unknown pay-per-view defeating Zac Sharp.

The screen goes blank for a few moments until…
“THE RESTART”
…slams into view.

“Living Legend” Pimp Bizkit is draped over “Lone Gunman” John Taylor as Nathan Williams hits Sean Fiery’s hand onto the mat for a three count in the Steel Cage Finals match of the World Heavyweight Championship Tournament at Fallout: Return to Glory. “The Unbreakable Female” Tonya Glory hits Sugar Rush upon Pimp Bizkit to claim the top title at a Crimson is shown as that quickly morphs into John Taylor pinning James Tanner to be crowned the World Heavyweight Champion as Pimp Bizkit is too slow to get back into the ring during their Triple Threat match at Fallout: Collision Course. “Buzzing” Electric Sharpe grins evilly after smashing a glass jar into the face of Lord of the Coliseum 2004 John Taylor as he watches Pimp Bizkit drape his arm over Lord Taylor to once again win the World Heavyweight Championship at Aftermath2K4. Pimp Bizkit is tapping out to Lord Taylor’s Silencer at a Sunday Storm as the Lone Gunman captures the title for the second time and retiring his archrival. Lord Taylor is shown taking multiple sledgehammer shots before being pinned by “The Downfall” Seth Raide at Heatwave II. Lord of the Coliseum 2005 Raide is shown taking the full facial impact of Herasy leading to Vyle claiming the win and the gold at Aftermath2K5. That scene blends into Vyle taking The Consumption before “Ultimatum” Jon Kellar covers him for the win and title on a Crimson broadcast. Ring of Honor Icon Nathaniel “Entertainment Franchise” Davis drops Jon H. Kellar down with a spinning full nelson slam before covering him for the win at Titan’s “Know Thine Enemy”. The clip of Lord of the Coliseum 2006 Kellar regaining the title and unifying it with the NEOGZW World Heavyweight Championship after defeating Icon Davis narrowly in a Sixty Minute Iron Match four pins to five at Crimson’s “Christmas Chaos” is shown. The image makes way to show Leon Taylor forcibly making Senior Referee Richard Dark count the pinfall as Zachary Sharp pins Lord Kellar at Aftermath2K6. That makes way to show Vernon Vanderbilt hitting a perfect senton splash from the top turnbuckle onto Zachary Sharp at Heatwave IV as Vernon becomes the twenty-fifth GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion. Leon Taylor is handed the title after hitting a shooting star piledriver on Vernon during the first round of the 2007 Lord of the Coliseum tournament at Crimson’s Thy Kingdom Come. Ring of Honor Icon Sean “Magic” Fiery hits a dragon suplex on Lord Leon Corbin at Anniversary Armageddon 2008 to win his second reign as champion. Lord Corbin wins his second title reign after hitting Getting the Leg Over on Icon Magic at Heatwave V. Icon Magic gains his third title reign at Fallout: Bushido with a rollup pin on Lord Corbin during their Sixty Minute Iron Man match narrowly winning five pins to four. The scene melds into “Big Shot” John Champa hitting his Star-struck upon Icon Magic following the end of the Sixty Minute Iron Man match at Fallout: Bushido before covering the Ring of Honor Icon for the win. A quick montage taken from events at Crimson King’s Ransom and the 2008 Lord of the Coliseum tournament flashes by of Ring of Honor Icon Monarch making Champa tap out to the Armageddon to win the World title for a second time in his history, to the United Japan Wrestling SuperHeavyweight Champion Kandi Fortune-Corbin hitting her Phoenix Rising on her husband Icon Monarch to make her a Ground Zero Global Unified Champion, to finally Icon Magic winning the title for a unprecedented fourth time and the 2008 Lord of the Coliseum over Kandi with the Final Destination. That scene fades into Rupert Martin winning the title by defeating Icon Magic at Aftermath2K8 with The Objection and that quickly morphs into Eva “Nemesis” Hikari hitting an Illusions Shattered from the top turnbuckle upon Vernon Vanderbilt in a Triple Threat Match at Crimson “Maux D Amour IV” that included Martin marking Eva as the thirty-fifth World Heavyweight Champion.

The screen goes blank for a few moments until…
“NEW REGIME”
…slams into view.

A montage of events that happened at Anniversary Armageddon 2009 flash upon the screen slowing to show scenes of “Diva Dangerous” Davina Cameron and Eva Hikari competing for the right to wear the World title before finally showing both women falling from the second turnbuckle with both women’s hand on the other woman creating co-World Heavyweight Champions. That scene easily fades into Fallout: One Night in Manchester where Davina, holding the tights, rolls up Eva to become the lone World Heavyweight Champion. The image quickly blends into Icon Williams winning the title for a third time after hitting Eva with his Wipe Out in the semi final round of the 2009 Lord of the Coliseum tournament at Crimson Best of Our Best before it shows the final round of the 2009 Lord of the Coliseum tournament where Kid Kaos has Icon Williams locked in the Kaos Krab to not only become a Lord of the Coliseum but the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion. The scene flashes to Icon Monarch dropping Lord Kaos with his Imperial Impalement at Aftermath2K10 to capture his third GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship. That scene is replaced with Icon Monarch receiving the Extinction from Icon Williams at the Special Broadcast Event: Manchester Again that lead to the massive man winning the title for the fourth time in his career. The scene blends into Munin rendering John Champa unconscious in a rear naked choke during the final round of the 2012 Lord of the Coliseum tournament at Crimson “It Could Happen One Night” to not only become a Lord of the Coliseum but the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion. That fades into Raze cashing in his cheque and hitting Shut The F**k Up on Lady Munin after she has already wrestled John Champa on a Crimson to become the forty-second GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion. Lord Leon Corbin claims the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship for the third time as he drops Raze on a pile of light tubes with his father’s Imperial Impalement at Heatwave X. Raze reclaims the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship for a second time when he defeats Lord Corbin at the Special Broadcast Event: Honor Reclaimed. The action changes to Aftermath2K13 where “The Spark” Sean Locke pins Kolic after hitting No Mercy to win the vacant GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship; fast forward a year later to Aftermath2K14 where Icon Lord Leon Corbin attains the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship for the fourth time by defeating Alex Cross with Over The Top.

That replay brings the intro to an image of the GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 World Heavyweight Championship belt. Above the belt are the words "EARNED" and below it "NOT GIVEN".

Crumb: MINASAN, KON’NICHIWA!!!!!!!

Samson: You know, if you get one inflection wrong we could be run out of town.

Pyros shoot off at the entrance ramp with the visuals of the Titan logo coming up on the Zerotron and a series of effects when the camera pans, catching a few signs within the first few rows, such as “PURO IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO”, "WELCOME HOME KELLAR” and “I'M THE OTHER CORBIN” The camera keeps going, stopping on the commentary desk that is now being occupied by the Stooges, as they begin to take their seats and fix on their headsets. Getting comfortable, Samson shoves Crumb, Nelson simply shaking his head as he turns and looks out over the vast crowd raising the roof with ear piercing cheers.

Nelson: Ladies and Gentlemen we are live here in Tokyo and we have a packed programme for you tonight. We've got two hot young Globalstars going head to head as America Vaughn and Piper Sanchez look to settle a score in the ring.

Crumb: And if that wasn't enough, they'll be cornered by "The Spark" Sean Locke and "The Big Shot" John Champa... both of whom have had plenty to say about each other.

Samson: No Spine Sean should be headed back to America with his tale between his legs after that choking performance at Heatwave XII.

Crumb: Choke?!! Champa cost him the World Heavyweight Championship.

Samson: Potato, potato...

Nelson: We also have a Television Championship match in our Main Event, but there's a last minute change to the scheduled programme. We'll be hearing more about that later on...

[Icon Lord Jon Kellar]

Pyro detonates around the stage and the crowd rise to their feet as Ring of Honor Icon Lord Jon H Kellar strides out from the back. He is still modeling the t-shirt advertising the Collision Course tournament and "Team GroundZero" but there's distinctly less frivolity about him this week.

Samson: Hey look, it's our resident pop-up ad!

Nelson: Icon Lord Kellar is not scheduled to wrestle tonight, but he's here. What does he have to say?

Samson: Who cares?

Crumb: After Kolic ambushed him at our announce table last week, I suspect Icon Kellar has a few things to get off his chest.

Kellar climbs up the steps into the ring, and calls for a microphone from ringside. Torres obliges.

Icon Kellar: There’s been a lot of talk about me recently… and it’s not been what I would call “positive”. But you know what? That’s water of a duck’s back for me.

Kellar looks out into the crowd.

Icon Kellar: “Jon Kellar is past his prime”, hey, at least I had a prime.

“Jon Kellar can’t get the job done anymore”, I don’t need to “get the job done” any more, I’ve got nothing to prove to any of you, or anyone in the back.

“Jon Kellar isn’t the man he used to be”, maybe not, but I’ve still got my memories.

All of this talk, it really doesn’t bother me.

Kellar shakes his head.

Icon Kellar: But, when some “fallen angel” pretty boy starts hitting me over the head with steel chairs and dumping me in the ring, and then some cowboy rides down to the ring on a horse and “saves” me… that’s where I start to get a little peeved.

He looks out into the crowd.

Icon Kellar: I admit that I haven’t been the man I used to be in recent weeks. I admit that my performance at Heatwave wasn’t up to snuff, and I may not be the Champion, or even the wrestler, that I was 10 years ago, but I am not so far gone that I am going to be Kolic’s punching bag and the damsel in distress for some stupid Johnny Cash wannabe.

He points to the back.

Icon Kellar: So Kolic… you think you can stand toe to toe with me. You think this little temper tantrum you’ve been on after your circus got ran out of town makes you in any way worthy to disrespect me the way you disrespected me at Crimson…you are dead… dead wrong… and if you’ve got the stones, I’d like you to come down to this ring so that I can spell that out for you face to face.

Samson: Seriously Fathead? You’re calling out Godboy? You’ve got "Ring of Honor Icon" in your name and you’re calling out Godboy. Just… just think about this for a second.

Nelson: Kolic left Icon Kellar with one hell of a headache at Crimson, and I guess Icon Kellar wants a little payback!

Crumb: Kolic’s gonna get creamed if he comes out here! Even at half his best Kellar can go with the best of them.

Samson: Just stop… stop embarrassing yourself…

Icon Kellar: Kolic, I will happily wait in this ring all night if I have to…

On cue, "Cross to Bear" plays throughout the Ariake Coliseum to announce Kolic's arrival. Except...there's no Kolic. Several seconds pass as no one walks out from backstage. Kellar looks a bit frustrated at not quite getting what he wants.

Kellar moves towards the ropes nearest the entrance and glares up.

Icon Kellar (micless): Where are you?

Nelson: There's Kolic's music, but he's nowhere to be found.

Crumb: Kolic's playing mind games with Icon Lord Kellar, is this really a smart move for him?

Samson: I-

Kolic: That's it Kellar, keep looking, you'll find me eventually...

Kellar joins everyone else in searching for Kolic, which doesn't take long as a spotlight points directly to him sitting on a chair in the rafters above the crowd.

Kolic: You're going to point that right at me? With no build up or dramatic pause? Spotlight guy, you gotta step up your game.

Samson: Like we haven't seen that before.

Kellar looks around with his arms outstretched like "Really?"

Icon Kellar: Right… so you lose your focus and get pinned, take it out on me with a steel chair, and now rather than be a man and face the consequences you’re gonna hide up there in the rafters.

Kolic: Are you being serious right now? You know as well as anyone that around here, in-ring talent anywhere near the action is fair game. The last thing we should expect from a Ring of Honor inductee is whining about a chair shot. Boo hoo hoo.

Kellar paces around the ring, keeping his composure but still trying to get what he wants.

Icon Kellar: Big brave words coming from someone who won't even say them to my face. Get down here and let's see what you have to say!

The crowd cheers a bit at his challenge. Kolic thinks to himself, starts to rise from the chair...and sits right back down.

Kolic: Nah.

The same fans who cheered Kellar now boo Kolic for refusing the invitation.

Kolic: You really think I'm going to give you what you want and let you punch me in the face? I'm not an idiot, Kellar. But please, if you'd like to rant about cowardice and challenges down there while I sit comfortably up here, go right ahead.

Kellar throws his arms out in frustration.

Icon Kellar: Really? You’re really going to stay up there?

Kolic: Yep.

Icon Kellar: Well then, I guess I’ll just have to join you.

The crowd roar as Kellar drops the microphone, makes his way out of the ring, and climbs over the barrier into the crowd, climbing the stairs.

Crumb: WHAT CAN ICON LORD KELLAR BE THINKING AS HE GOES TO THE RAFTERS TO FIGHT KOLIC?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Samson: Probably, "Let's kill two careers with one stone!"

Nelson: JOSHUA!

Kellar reaches the top of the first flight of stairs, the fans patting him on the back as he strides forward with purpose. However, as he gets close to the second flight, a group of men in iridescent shirts appear and grab him.

Nelson: Well, Kellar may want to get his hands on Kolic, but security are stopping him!

The crowd boo loudly as security frogmarch the Ring of Honor Icon out of one of the arena exits.

Kolic: Wow, security's finally doing their jobs. Not that I would have needed you against Ol' Man Kellar, but thanks anyway.

We cut to a different camera backstage where five or six large burly men “encourage” Kellar down a corridor.

Icon Kellar: Let… me… GO!

Kellar shakes himself loose and turns to go back to the arena, but the security guards form a phalanx between him and the arena entrance. In the background there is the faintest sound of Kolic continuing his mockery.

Icon Kellar: What the hell is wrong with you?

From behind Kellar appears “Brutal” Ben David, Head of Security, now almost obese in size but also still around 7 foot six and with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp. Kellar turns and comes face-to-chest with his former team-mate.

Ben: Sorry Jon… it’s my job.

Icon Kellar: Your job? Your JOB? I got you this job you bloated blue faced baboon!

Ben: No need for that…

Icon Kellar: Since when did your job involve coming between me and insufferable little pricks who ambush me?

Ben: Since you stopped being a contracted Globalstar. You attack the talent, you get thrown out.

Icon Kellar: Right so I can do commentary, speak on a mic, have my entrance music played… with pyro… but I’m not allowed to actually wrestle anyone?

Ben: Yes.

Icon Kellar: …this is why this company is going down the crapper.

Kolic: Hey Kellar! I thought you were Iconic Dynamite! Or are you the Wile E. Coyote kind that only blows up in his face?

Kellar tries to push past security but is pushed back and is then grabbed by Ben.

Icon Kellar: Let me go you anus!!!

Ben: Look, you want to put your hands on Kolic, you have to do it in a sanctioned match. Come on Jon, it’s Japan… honour and all that jazz…

Kellar shakes himself loose.

Icon Kellar: Fine!

Kellar walks off down the corridor.

Nelson: Are we going to see Kolic v Kellar here tonight??!!!

Samson: Oh God… I hope not…

Crumb: Why… why would you not want to see that match?

Samson: It’s Godboy vs Icon Lord Has-Been Fathead… there is absolutely nothing appealing about that match.

Crumb: But it’s win win for you, either Kolic gets his head kicked in or Kellar gets his head kicked in. Why aren’t you happy?

Samson: Cos… I’m just not…

Nelson: Can we get on with our jobs now?

In the ring is Trouble Trax talent Phantom, stretching and looking towards the ramp.

Nelson: Well Ladies and Gentlemen, as part of the Summer Heat Tour this year we’ve brought a number of Trouble Trax members with us, and we’re about to see an exhibition match between two such talents.

The Crystal Method’s “Born Too Slow” plays over the PA and the lights blink as Cyrus Porter walks out to the top of the ramp, holding his arms out to encourage applause. Heading down the ramp, he slaps hands with fans on either side of him. Getting to the ring, he slides in under the bottom rope, gets up and elicits cheers from fans, one side of the ring at a time, holding the red-strapped Trouble Trax championship above his head. Having done this, he backs off to one side and listens for the bell.

MATCH 1 (Non-Title Singles Match)

PHANTOM v CYRUS PORTER

After a handshake, the bell rings and Porter and Phantom tie up. The exchange standing holds for a while until Porter counters a hammerlock into a snapmare, spreading Phantom’s arms out wide and pushing his knee into his back. Phantom fights back up, turns in the hold and lands a Northern Lights suplex for a 2 count.

Nelson: Both men showing good fundamentals here.

Crumb: You know who else has good fundamentals, Kellar and Kolic.

Samson: Will you just drop it.

Crumb: Oh… I get it, you’re still sulking because of what happened to Alex.

Samson: What?... erm… no I’m not.

Crumb: He tried to kill the Vice President…

Samson: What is this, 24? He had an altercation…

Nelson: Sigh…

As the Stooges continue to squabble and Nelson tries to call the match over the top of it, Phantom has gained the upper hand and now has his opponent pinned in the corner. He chops.

Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Another chop

Crowd: WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Nelson: The legacy of Dick Blair lives on…

Crumb: An altercation is two people having an argument in a corridor, strangling the Vice President of the company…

Samson: I’ve already told you, this has nothing to do with that.

Crumb: Back me up here Patrick…

Nelson: I’m not touching this with a 10 foot pole…

Phantom whips Porter into the ropes but Porter ducks the return and scores with a tornado DDT for the two count. The crowd applaud the efforts of the two youngsters.

Crumb: Frankly Samson you should be happy, Alex Cross showed real growth. He’s choking other people instead of just ch…

Samson: WILL YOU JUST DROP IT!!

Crumb: Touched a nerve there I think…

Nelson: Looks like Porter has the upper hand here…

Porter stands over the stunned Phantom and locks in a single-leg crab, getting down low and keeping Phantom away from the ropes.

Crumb: I do wonder though, with Alex gone….

Samson: SHUT UP!

Crumb: …with Alex gone… who’s going to step up against Leon Corbin for the World Championship.

Samson: Who knows, maybe we’ll see Godboy or Lady Itty Bitty or Lady Emo Sugar Britches… oh joy of joys how wonderful that will be.

Crumb: See… you are upset.

Samson: You should be too!

Nelson: OOOH!

Nelson’s exclamation is triggered by the end of a sequence where Phantom has gotten within fingertips reach of the ropes, is pulled back to the centre of the ring by Porter, who takes an enziguri to the face as Phantom manages to slip out of the hold.. Phantom covers the Trouble Trax champion.

Torres: The winner of this bout… PHANTOM!!!

Phantom helps his competitor up and the two shake hands as Porter is handed back the Trouble Trax Championship. He points to the belt as if to suggest “next time…” and the two young talents soak up the appreciation of the Tokyo crowd.

Nelson: A good solid win for the youngster here tonight, over the champion of our development promotion. 

Samson: Yeah, that’s what this company needs, solid. Everyone’s crying out for someone who’s “solid”

Nelson: Joshua, these are two young men, both of whom did themselves proud.

Crumb: If they keeps performing this well Joshua might have to give them condescending nicknames…

[Jayne"The Desperado"Remington]

The scene opens up backstage in the parking lot area where 3 security guards looks absolutely stunned as Jayne "the Desperado" Remington approaches. Perhaps their shock is in part because he is riding into the arena on his beautiful horse Vera. As they trot forward the lead security guard begins to say something then stops. He looks at his coworkers and they shrug. They all slowly move to the side to let The Desperado ride in. But as he approaches The desperado comes to a stop and looks at one of the security guards.

Jayne: Hell of a time getting here. Apparently this country aint completely used to seeing a man on a horse ride through town. Did I miss anything ya reckon I should know about?

The guards looks at each other and one of them decides to step forward.


Guard: Um... Kolic and uh.. Kellar... They had a confrontation. Looks like they're gonna have a-uh match.

Jayne nods and you can sense the smile coming from behind his bandanna. he tips his hat to the guard.

Jayne: Thank ya kindly. That is mighty interstin' indeed

He trots past them and into the arena. The guards all shake their heads.

Samson: And people say we've sold out...

Backstage, Jon Kellar locates a door marked "Commissioner" and knocks. There is no reply, he knocks again.

Icon Kellar: Nate, you in there?

Again no response. Kellar tries the door, but it won't budge. Kellar shrugs and steps back a few feet, then boots the door open. A wall of paper behind the door falls and scatters all over the place, mostly landing on the desk of Ring of Honor Icon Nathaniel Davis and burying the paperwork he was working on. The "Entertainment Francise" glares up at the unwelcome guest.

Icon Kellar: I... um... fixed your door. It was sticking....

Icon Davis: So I see...

Icon Kellar: Can I have a word?

Icon Davis: If you must... have a seat...

Kellar enters and pushes the door closed. He looks around at the sea of paper towers that are in front of him.

Icon Kellar: Do you ever file anything?

Davis doesn't look up, he is frantically trying to find the piece of paper that got buried by the paperlanche.

Icon Davis: It is filed... or it was until you came in...

Icon Kellar: I'll rephrase... do you ever throw away anything?

Icon Davis: Jon, if you're here to give me administration tips then I've got better things to do.

Icon Kellar: Okay okay... I'll cut to the chase.

Kellar scoots round the paper and, somewhat miraculously, finds a chair, knocking another smaller pile off of it as he sits down.

Icon Kellar: I want a match with Kolic... tonight.

Icon Davis: You're not under contract.

Icon Kellar: This again? Since when has my contractual status mattered? I took the World Title off you when I wasn't under contract.

Davis opens his mouth.

Icon Kellar: Yes Yes I know, stricken from the record, but only last year I wrestled Sean Locke for the World Title when I wasn't under contract. Hell, they let me do your job without a contract.

The point is, why are contracts suddenly a big deal?

Icon Davis: The world's changed a lot since you've been gone Jon. You're wearin' a t-shirt for another promotion as we speak.

Icon Kellar: You're saying I shouldn't take other work?

Icon Davis: Not at all... but if I put you in a match with Kolic and he gets injured and then you sod off to New Japan Fightin' Championship or Redefine Pro...

Icon Kellar: They're one offs...

Icon Davis: Kolic's employment isn't... and with this Alex incident and Eva's Hikari's ongoin' descent into depression I can't afford to lose more talent. Sorry Jon, I've gotta do what's best for business.

Icon Kellar: What if I promise not to break him?

Icon Davis: Then I won't believe you...

Icon Kellar pouts

Icon Kellar: You used to be be more fun.

Icon Davis: You used to have hair, things change...

Kellar looks around the room in a huff, then suddenly smiles

Icon Kellar: Okay then.

Icon Davis looks up from searching under the paper mountain for whatever it was he was working on.

Icon Davis: Really?

Icon Kellar: Yeah... it's fine. You've got to do what's best for business.

Davis raises an eyebrow.

Icon Davis: Really?

Icon Kellar: Yeah.

Icon Davis: Alright then...

Davis goes back to his work. Kellar looks around

Icon Kellar: Of course... that does mean I've got nothing better to do for the rest of the night so I guess I'll just have to hang out here and help you.

Kellar leans back in the chair and stretches. As he does, he sends a tall pile of paper scattering everywhere accidentally-on-purpose. Davis looks up and scowls at Kellar, who is grinning like an idiot.

Icon Kellar: Whoopsy...

Davis sighs

Icon Davis: Fine... if it'll get rid of you, you can have Kolic in a sanctioned match.

Kellar smiles and stands up.

Icon Kellar: Thank you!

Icon Davis: A WRESTLIN' match, no broken limbs or concussions.

Icon Kellar: Scout's honour cap'n

The former World Champion exits the room, and Davis looks down at his desk.

He takes a few seconds to sort through the paper that Kellar scattered all over his desk and finds the work he was in the middle of. He reaches for his pen and prepares to write, when the door flies open again, reburying his desk. He glares up at Kellar, who has re-entered.

Icon Kellar: Main Event?

Icon Davis: GET OUT!!!!

Kellar makes a hasty exit. We cut to the corridor where Kellar shuts the door forcefully. There is the sound of yet more paper falling everywhere as he does.

Icon Kellar: I guess that's a no...

Kellar heads off in the direction of the locker room.

Crumb: It's official! Kolic v Kellar here tonight in Tokyo!!!!

Samson: Oh goody....

[GZG Online]

Crumb: This really isn’t your night, is it Joshua?

Samson: Just… shut up…

Nelson: Well up next we have a match!

Samson: On a wrestling show? My God, whatever will they think of next?!!!

MATCH 2 (Singles Match)

PIPER SANCHEZ v AMERICA VAUGHN

The lights in the arena dim as "24" by Jem begins to play, America Vaughn emerges, with “The Spark” Sean Locke alongside her.

Torres: Ladies and Gentlemen the following contest is scheduled for one fall. Approaching the ring, fighting out of Manhattan, New York, being accompanied by “The Spark” Sean Locke… America Vaughn!!!

Vaughn rolls into the ring and gets the crowd going, before removing her hat and throwing it into the crowd. Sean Locke applauds her as she awaits her opponent.

"Smooth" by Santana begins to play across the arena, which immediately fills with boos. Piper Sanchez and her former stablemate John Champa emerge and make their way down to the ring. 

Torres: And her opponent… fighting out of Killeen, Texas and being acompanied by “The Big Shot” John Champa…. Piper Sanchez!!!

At the bottom of the ramp, Piper rolls into the ring and Champa and Sean come face to face exchanging words and squaring up to one another, before the referee rolls out of the ring and separates them. 

Nelson: You can feel the hatred between these two!!!

Champa smiles cockily and walks away to his corner as the bell rings and the the two Globalstars circle each other

Nelson: These two squaring off in singles action after that tag match last week

Crumb: But it’s strange to see Champa in Sanchez’s corner after he effectively cost her the match last week.

Samson: It’s water under the bridge… Piper knows she can’t hold a grudge!

The two women exchange a series of standing hold before Piper drops Vaughn to the mat with an armdrag. Vaughn returns with an amdrag of her own, then catches a dropkick which sends her back into the corner. Piper builds on that momentum to score a handspring elbow, then bulldogs Vaughn out of the corner and plants her face-first into the mat. She scores a 2 count.

Nelson: Piper looking to settle a score here after last week.

Piper continues to take the initiative, focussing her attacks on the head and neck. Vaughn tries to open up some space, but can’t counter the quicker Sanchez. On the outside, Champa cheers Piper on. Sean Locke throws insults across the ring at the man who cost him the World Heavyweight Championship. Champa flips him the bird and keeps cheering on Piper, who now has Vaughn on the mat in a side headscissors.

Nelson: No love lost between Champa and Sean here…

Crumb: I don’t think Champa really cares about Piper, but getting one over on America means getting one over on Locke… and he’s totally okay with that.

Vaughn finds herself in the corner but springs up and into a standing moonsault which lands her behind a charging Piper. A springboard headscissors gains Vaughn the upper hand and sends Piper flying out of the ring near Champa. The “Big Shot” pulls her up and berates her as the referee begins the count. Meanwhile Sean and Vaughn just look amused with the whole thing.

Crumb: Told you!

Samson: No one disputes your ability to state the bleeding obvious…

Piper slaps Champa in the face and rolls back into the ring.

Crowd: “OOOOOOH!!!!!!”

Crumb: And the odds of a Slaughterhouse reunion continue to get worse…

Vaughn and Piper trade offence back and forth for a while, with Piper taking Vaughn down with a jumping headscissors and Vaughn following up with a leg sweep. Vaughn keeps the momentum, landing a series of quick throws before taking her opponent to the mat and locking in a camel clutch. Vaughn tightens the hold and Piper reaches for the ropes, but is too far away. She reaches out to tap.

Crumb: Looks like Vaughn might be about go 2-0 over Piper here!

Piper reaches one more time, but cannot get to the ropes. Suddenly, Champa gets up onto the apron, and the referee runs over to admonish him. In the time honoured tradition, this is the moment that Piper chooses to tap out. 

Crumb: Piper’s tapping!!

Samson: If the referee doesn’t see it, it doesn’t count!

Crumb: We can SEE it!!!

Nelson: Piper Sanchez is submitting but the referee has his back turned.

Champa continues to distract the referee, while Sean Locke shouts at him to turn around. Eventually, Locke gets impatient and runs round towards Champa, pulling him off the apron and to the floor. As the crowd roar and cheer Sean punches Champa repeatedly in the face until Champa ends up on his knees. In the ring, Vaughn maintains the hold, but Sanchez is no longer tapping.

Crumb: This is ridiculous, this match should be over!

Nelson: The referee didn’t see Sanchez’s submission, and the match continues!

Outside of the ring, Sean throws Champa into the safety barrier. As Champa is bent over the metal bar, Sean storms towards him.

Crumb: Hey Champa, I think Karma’s calling!!!

As Sean approaches, Champa reaches into his pants and pulls out his brass knucks. As Sean gets close, Champa slams him in the face with the knucks, sending him to the ground. The crowd boo loudly as Champa straightens his clothes and walks away. Once he’s a safe distance, he jumps up on the ring apron and points to Sean, shouting to the referee.

Champa: Hey ref! My friend Sean’s hurt!

The referee turns and sees Sean lying completely still on the outside. He calls to the back for the EMTs, who run down the ramp to assist. As the referee directs them, Champa rolls into the ring and delivers another knuck-shot to Vaughn, causing her to fall backwards. Sanchez realises her opportunity and rolls her up. Champa makes a quick exit just as the referee turns around.

PIPER SANCHEZ

Champa rolls back into the ring and raises Piper’s hand to a loud chorus of boos. Piper looks thrilled to have beaten the now-unconscious America Vaughn. On the outside, Sean Locke rubs his chin, shaking off the effects of the knuck-punch.

Samson: Heh! Champa gets the better of no-spine Sean… AGAIN!

In the ring, Champa continues to celebrate with Sanchez, until suddenly, out of nowhere, he lays her out with a Star Struck.

Crumb: Oh come on!!!

Nelson: I guess Champa isn't happy to share the spotlight with anyone!!!

Champa spreads his arms wide, soaking up the boos as he struts around the ring with a smug grin. He rolls out of the ring and makes his way back up the ramp.

Crumb: GZW2K1’s resident karma houdini escapes again…

[Sean Locke]

Sean grabs a mic and slides into the ring.

Sean: Champa!! I'm sick and tired of you. You haven't been relevant in the GZW since that time you held the World title and even then you wore out your welcome and since then all you've done is pick your ball up and go home. Then after you finally found someone to steal the spotlight from you make this sudden miraculous return.

The Spark smiles

Sean: Yeah John, we're on to you. You can bring in the big draw alone so you need help. So guess what?! I'm going to help you this one final time. I'm going to allow you to step in the very same ring as me, one on one and just to give you a chance we can make it no disqualification so you can legally bring your little brass knucks. How does all of that sound?

You know I'm going to make you a cery famous man. Because when it's all said and done people will point to you be like "You know that guy right there, that's the guy that had his career ended by Sean Locke"

Sean drops the mic and just stares at the top of the ramp.

[John Champa]

Was that your way delivering a mic drop Sean? The same shitty, harmless words from the same shitty, worthless GlobalStar, named Sean Locke.

John is walking in the backstage area, after assisting Piper in defeating Vaughn. John cockily passes other Globalstars, who just stare at him.

As I walk through the halls everyone, Globalstars included, are just in awe of my presence. This is what true greatness looks like Sean you make want to take notes. For years you’ve wanted to be like me, you patterned your move-set after mine, you’ve patterned your walk, your talk, your movement inside the ring, all after me, and I don’t blame you, everyone wants to have their name remembered.

Just like my theme song states I will leave your star struck and give you 100% reason to remember my name. Tonight you remembered my name Sean, but it wasn’t because of that knock-out shot I gave you, it was because you know that you cannot and will not ever come close to being me. For weeks I’ve been calling you out, and for weeks your, weak ass, fans have been waiting of your answer. They’ve been clamoring for your response hoping that you would give them the answer that they want to hear, the answer they need to hear, and that is you accept my challenge. But for week’s you’ve been quiet, showing nothing and saying even less. Was this because you were gathering your thoughts? Were you trying to figure out the best way to come back at the man who is far greater than you can ever dream of being? Or were you just simply scared to face me again?

Tonight, I guess I pushed you to your breaking point, I forced your hand. I punked you out in front of millions of people and you had no choice but to do what you did after the match. But your sorry attempt at a mic drop was, just like your career, and Epic Fail. I deserve better than some shitty few seconds of you saying the same shit. I’m a former World Heavyweight Champion, I’m Ground Zero’s hottest commodity I deserve well thought out and planned responses. You will give me what’s rightfully mine Sean, give me your fucking best.

This isn’t Kolic or Jericho Cross you’re going up against. This isn’t come flash in the pan wrestler, only in the business because his daddy had some pull with the powers that be, this isn’t come cartoonish caricature out to make a name for himself. No! This is Jonathan Mother Fucking Champa you’re squaring off against, I’m not flash in the pan, I’m not your stereotypical wrestler, I’m the wrestler that everyone wants to be like, but hates to look at. I’m the wrestler that people pay to see get his ass kicked, but is just as happy to see him victorious.

I’m the crafty veteran, the veteran that is about to once again give you the main event rub that you so desperately need in your floundering career. I’m the veteran that is about to take you to school and give you a lesson in bleeding for your beliefs. I’m that veteran who is effortlessly better than everyone else. I’m the veteran whose just simply……

John begins to whisper.

Greatness in the Goddamn flesh.

You want me in a No DQ match, you’re on.

Crumb: It's official! Sean Locke v John Champa in a No DQ match!

Samson: Heh... I almost feel sorry for No-Spine Sean

The scene fades out.

We cut to GZW2K1’s Senior Interviewer Weston Bentley with his right index finger embedded in his left nostril. He twists the finger round a few times then pulls it out, admiring the fruits of his expedition before moving towards his mouth.

A few centimetres from his lips he suddenly realises the camera is on and hurriedly composes himself.

Bentley: Oh… uh… hello… yes *clears throat* Ladies and Gentlemen, we frequently say that anything can happen here in the Globalverse.

Samson: Nobody says that…

Crumb: Shhh!

Bentley: But the other night, at a seemingly completely innocuous house show here in Tokyo, the Television Title was defended in a match between the former champion Piper Sanchez and the reigning champion Amanda Reynolds. Surely no one could have predicted what would happen next!

We cut to a fixed overview camera at a venue somewhere in Tokyo where Piper Sanchez and Amanda Reynolds are wrestling for the Television Championship. The momentum seems to be with Reynolds, as she flawlessly switches between various submission holds, keeping Sanchez grounded.

We cut to another shot and Sanchez appears to have gained the upperhand, ducking a shuffle side kick, rebounding off the ropes and taking the champion down with a cross body for a two count.

Bentley: An even contest then apparently took a turn for the worse, however, when Amanda Reynolds landed awkwardly following this move.

Amanda Reynolds is on the top rope, and as Piper Sanchez executes a Frankensteiner from the top rope. Reynolds does not flow through the move and instead ends up being spiked on her head. She writhes in the ring holding the back of her neck, but manages to kick out when Piper covers her.

Bentley: Despite an apparent neck injury, Reynolds continued with the match and pulled off the win, however that wasn’t the end of the story.

We cut to the end of the match when an extremely groggy looking Amanda Reynolds rolls Piper up for the Three Count. The bell rings and the announcer declares her the winner, but as he does there is a loud roar from the crowd as Mongrel appears up on the stage. He makes his way down to the ring and speaks to the announcer, then climbs into the ring.

Herbert Torres: Er… Ladies and Gentlemen… a surprise match has been added to the program tonight. This contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the Wild Card Eddie Knoxville Television Championship.

The crowd boos as the bell rings. Amanda puts up a brave fight against Mongrel but in her injured state is completely overpowered. Mongrel targets her injured neck, and then finishes her off with a Choke Bomb. Mongrel pins with his foot for the three count, and is handed the W.C.E.K Television Title to a chorus of loud boos. Piper Sanchez rolls into the ring and celebrates with her Warpath team-mate as the footage ends.

The camera cuts back to Bentley, who now has his finger in his mouth. He sees that the camera is back on, and again recomposes himself.

Bentley: So… as you can see ladies and gentlemen, we have a new W.C.E.K Television Champion, The Mongrel and he’s here with me now?

[Mongrel]

William Saint better known as The Mongrel walks into frame to stand near the senior interviewer. The WCEK TV title championship belt is draped over the huge man's shoulder.

Mongrel: Hello, Mister Bentley.

Bentley: Thank you for taking the time out to speak to me tonight before your first defense as a two-time "Wild Card" Eddie Knoxville Television Champion. As the viewing audience just witnessed you successfully defended Amanda Reynolds after she had already gone through a grueling match against your Warpath stablemate, Piper Sanchez. How was it possible that you were even granted a match so quickly especially after being absent for quite some time?

Mongrel looks down on the much shorter Weston.

Mongrel: Absent, Mister Bentley? You assume I have been absent because I have not be afforded the opportunity to exhibit my skills upon the Ground Zero Global airwaves. You make it sound as if I was at home nonchalantly allowing my professional life to deteriorate into nothingness as if I was Mister Sean Locke.

Bentley: That's not what I meant at all, Mongrel. I just meant that you have been absent from on air broadcasts and as such many of our great fans might have mistaken that as something else. So, huh, your surprising defeat of Amanda Reynolds...

Mongrel: The Machine works in very mysterious, although carnivorous, ways, Mister Bentley. It seems the shelf life of Miss Reynolds had reached its expiration date.

Bentley: Are you saying that you were sent in to hurt Amanda Reynolds?

Mongrel: Miss Reynolds' sustained injuries were very untimely and regrettable. I wish nothing but a speedy recovery and return to the squared circle for her, Mister Bentley.

Bentley: At the most recent Crimson you made an unexpected appearance during the main event match between Lady Munin and Ring of Honor Icon Lord Leon Corbin. It was during the match that you interjected yourself and caused Lady Munin a loss. May I ask why?

Mongrel: Ah, the diminutive physical form but big spirit of Lady Munin. She is The Machine's saving grace. The Little Engine That Can. The great vanquisher of Clan Mayhem. She is everything The Machine wishes all of their Globalstars were. Yet Lady Munin is distracted by the simplest most mundane events of her life. Instead of riding high on the lightning bolt she has been placed upon she would rather spiral into the abyss of a soap opera that is her personal life. She would rather be captivated in the wooing of Mister Jericho Cross than to be exhilarated by a capture suplex. Her duties as a nurse maid to her "newborn" thirteen year old son have no realizing that she could be so much more. The same mediocrity attitude she has consistently slandered many others with seems to have found its way into her own mental.

Bentley: So you would have us believe the reason why you interfered in the match was to simply spark a flame into Lady Munin? It wasn't because you feel that you have been unjustly overlooked all these years for a chance at the GoundZero Wrestling 2K1 World Heavyweight Championship and that you want a shot at Icon Lord Corbin?

The big man crosses his arms across his barreled chest.

Mongrel: You should know that I am not driven by the proverbial carrot on the stick trickery utilized by The Machine, Mister Bentley. If I were motivated to obtain the title that Icon Lord Corbin possesses, I would relieve him of the burden of carrying that twenty-five pounds of gold and leather. If that is all, Mister Bentley, I need to go prepare myself for my match against Stephon Davis?

Bentley: Yes it is, Mongrel. Thank you for the time and good luck tonight in your Titan main event defense of the "Wild Card" Eddie Knoxville Television Championship against Stephon Davis.

Mongrel nods his head in silent acknowledgement.

Bentley: Back to you, Patrick, Todd, and Joshua.

[Kolic]

A camera catches up to Kolic walking backstage as he limbers up for his impromptu fight with Jon Kellar later on in the night. He's already dressed in a plain gray t-shirt and his usual black jeans, ready to compete whenever the match happens.

Cameraman: Kolic! A quick word.

Kolic: C'mon son, it's never quick around here.

Cameraman: Okay...have you heard that you're officially facing off with Jon Kellar tonight?

Kolic: Are you kidding? I followed him from his kerfuffle with security straight to Commissioner Davis' office. The walls around here are paper thin by the way, so don't order any hits or ladies of the evening, you hear?

Cameraman: Any thoughts going in to the match?

Kolic: Mostly that it seems to be the habit of wrestlers around here to demand things they end up regretting. Alex Cross obsessively went after the Heavyweight Title and lost his girlfriend, mind, and career in the process. I could list more examples, but I think that one makes the case for me, and besides you wanted a quick word. So congratulations Jon Kellar, you'll have your one-on-one battle with me just like you wanted. Just don't be surprised when you're regretful after end up on your back, hopefully unconscious so you don't feel the pain from a kick to the head.

Cameraman: So what's next for you after you settle things with Kellar?

Kolic: A ride to the hotel and a chocolate chunk cookie from room service, followed by a long sleep.

Cameraman: I meant, who's your next target?

Kolic: Hey, ask a stupid question...as for my more long-term plans, I still plan on relieving Eva Hikari of her title. Kellar tried to troll me out of winning it before, and it worked better than I would have hoped. Once he's out of the picture, I'll take it in the fair match I should have had.

Cameraman: And then?

Kolic: You're really asking that, given my response last time?

Cameraman: Sorry...

Kolic: I'm done talking anyway, so I'll let you go chat up someone else.

Kolic continues walking, and the cameraman keeps pace. After a second Kolic stops but doesn't turn around.

Kolic: I said, we're done. Go. Find. Someone. Else.

The cameraman didn't need any more hints, and the feed fades out there.
